In fairness, I agree with JAB in this instance. Anyone who plays Classic WoW is beyond my understanding. I will never “get it,” and if I was a dev, I would’ve been completely against producing it. I still don’t know who it’s for. I know a lot of people play it, I just can’t figure out what’s wrong with them.
Retail is a dumpster fire. It’s not as though Classic players want Classic vs Retail. They want a brand new Warcraft game built on Classic principles.
It’s no different than D2 players who skipped D3. D3 was also a dumpster fire. An unforgiveable mess of a game. I’d rather D2 another ten years than another iteration of D3.
Weird. I guess opinions vary. I think retail WoW was brilliant until they started randomly making it hard to do things other than raiding in end game. I would have started playing again in 9.1.5 because they fixed almost every complaint I had.
But now they’re destroying my favorite NPCs and renaming my favorite achievements, and honestly, it makes me violent and I have no outlet for these feelings. It’s not a good feeling, so instead of playing WoW, I have turned to chemical escapism and will continue to spiral until the woke mafia is finished assassinating my childhood.
There’s a lot to dislike about retail but mostly it was turning WoW into what it is today that turns off the Classic crew. Take your pick really.
- Talent overhaul.
- GCD change.
- Pathfinder.
- Various borrowed power systems.
- No sense of permanence in the game anymore.
- Headless PvP design.
- Mary Sue
- Sharding
- CRZ
- Itemization changes.
Everything in the game has been touched by these guys and it’s all typically been bad for the game, the publisher and the customers.

You think people are stupid? You don’t think they’ve figured that out already? People can decide what they want to do, on their own, without somebody issuing calls to action every time they’re disenchanted with the game.

Sounds like a you first situation. I mean, I have already unsubbed. 9.1 was definitely a huge huge flop.
If you hate the game that much that your leaving, why trash the game you invested time and money to play ? Just go and take your followers with you.

OP’s kinda right. we never had that many qol changes lined up and it so happens that it’s after a huge scandal and drop of population

however i can’t follow suit - i gotta raid twice a week.
I finally unsubbed. I was mad about so many things, but what finally set me off was grinding 10x heroic raid bosses/3x mythic raid bosses, 10x 15-21M+ keys, and the nearly 7k honor 2100+ rated PvP boxes every week. I’ve had 9x ilvl maxed boxes every week and other than my first few vaults at start of patch I’ve gotten the same stupid items and useless items every week since. I’m actually taking transmog pieces which feels terrible, because every choice I get is so bad or something I keep getting EVERY WEEK. This on top of the fact I’ve been farming Sylvanas on Heroic and Normal for over 2 months now and still don’t have a helm from here. Stuck with this 226 normal helm I only got because someone loot shared it to me. Also sucks because Heroic and mythic Nerzul have also eluded me with a helmet.
I keep getting the same exact items over and over in raid if/when I do actually get a drop for myself, so I’m in a never ending cycle of stagnancy. Very bad loot system. I feel like people putting in work for this long should have an end in sight in terms of getting the pieces they need to keep gear relevant and push the higher content.
The vault causes more problems than it was intended to fix, the lottery adds no meaningful enjoyment to the game, and more loot needs to drop from raid. Very disappointing game.

ok by that argument your pressuring people to play and feel guilty for these victims. were still paying customers. we still are paying for a product. if you wanna support a bad product thats on you. if u wanna donate go for it but your statement can also be taken as guilting people cuz u dont want the game to go to shiet. id rather see the game fail and come back with a better run.
I am just waiting for this 6 months sub I forgot to cancel 4 months ago to wear off. 
I like this game, so I will continue to play it, just saying
For what it is, there is nothing better out there. People always bring up FF14 to compare it to. Have most of you played FF14?? The story is better, and trade skills are better, WoW is better at everything else. WoW leads in PvE content, PvP content, raids big time and open world content big time. Here’s the catch, for those of you who completed Shadowbringer, did you immediately make a new character to see the story one more time?? Hell no you didn’t!!
