Stop forcing "current content" leveling for 71-80

This will never happen its kinda been this way forever. Current expansion leveling is the content to level to max.

You can already lvl without touchung new zones with dungeon spam.

Normal dungeons are faster

64 level 70 characters🤦🏻‍♂️… do you ever leave the house?

In our group testing, with the speed of Timewalking dungeons and the boosted EXP reward from the end, Timewalking was actually still faster in exp/minute than spamming normals from TWW, even with rested exp.

Granted, we were moving faster than usual because our group included an optimized timewalking character, but even if it was a minute or two slower, timewalking is still faster without rested exp and only a little slower than normals with rested exp.

It’s irrelevant anyways, since Timewalking is fundamentally changing to be just Chromie Time with the anniversary patch. Guess we’ll see if the exp totals get adjusted accordingly.

So don’t play the game? Alts is only thing that keeps me logged in, like I said, done with my season 1 goals.

False, you get BOTH until level 71. It used to be fine all the way to max level, only in THIS expansion has this changed. And I have tested it, I am leveling faster in normal War Within dungeons right now since I do get mob XP in them, and always do them with rested XP.

Yes, but same 8 dungeons over and over and over get old very fast. And I am really sick of Dawnbreaker lol.

Actually no. I have agoraphobia, so I don’t often leave my house. WoW keeps my sanity by giving me somethin to do.

Again, false. I can’t even get 1 bubble of XP in the dungeon at level 71+. Not even 1/2 a level by the finishing XP. Where a normal dungeon with mob XP and finishing XP is 1/2 - 3/4 of a level each. Tested it all week, decided current timewalking isn’t worth doing. It was awesome in Dragonflight for fast leveling, and they ruined it.

They can’t. When old content is better than the new content, you have to force players into the new content. Sorry.

Expansions just aren’t interested like they use to be. Legion was the last good one. BFA tried to be good but it got huddled down by the shift in both writing and game design.

Yep, what is the point in this other than NOT wanting us to level alts at all.

Maybe play a different MMO to level doing something entirely new.

See, that’s just it. I do troll from time to time, but only certain people and only certain threads. In the last 19 years I have paid for nearly 40 boosts just to see what a class felt like at level cap at the end of an expac after being “adjusted”. I have a loud mouth, and an unpopular opinion, and say things bluntly because I am 50. Does not make me a troll. It makes me a retired Gen X human who is hanging out in a public forum on the internet. Sometimes I think people here just like buzzwords that dismiss other posters.

It would be interesting if they would scale all the content.

doing quests in Westfall at 75 etc.

Tho i doubt it would come without problems

Ok maybe I did not offer the perfect solution but, if Microsoft wants to make the game " last longer’ it would be beneficial to this if the zones were more recyclable IMO.

I do not see old zones as " ghosts of the past’ as much as potential for more fun.
Revisiting Dustwallow marsh with new content was fun AND before I am exiled from wow, I would like to say " I was right about classic", pats self on back.

Agreed and in that double the character cap or take character cap of this is 2024 not 2008

Dear OP,

Have you considered playing any other game then Wow? Seems you are just causing your own misery leveling alts at the end of YOUR season. Just because you dont recognize what a healthy gaming life is, doesn’t mean we should suffer for it. Go play something… i refuse to believe that wow is the only game you own.

Forcing all players to play in TWW is just a shady business move so the current game doesn’t feel dead. Much better for player retention and metrics to have everyone 71+ in the new stuff.

How does anyone “suffer”? You’re telling me to go play a different game, so therefore I wont be in your War Within queues

Yet if I queue older content, I could be a tank or healer for lower dungeon brackets and help queue times

Please help me see where the “suffer” part is?

Except it wont be, since I will get bored of it and just quit playing vs doing it over and over and over

This is why you are bored. I could never play that much without getting super tired of the game.

Edit. I do agree that we should be able to run old content for similar XP, especially if the mobs are green or yellow and not gray. Let us use chromie to 80. Im fine with that.

So you’re a zoomer, which most people aren’t.

You’re also a major altoholic, which most people aren’t.

Both of those things makes your complaint a bit suspect.

“I finished everything in a month” doesn’t help your case, it actually shows you are not an “average” player, and aside from what they do with World First and the Mythic Raid, the rest of the game is really for the average player (which we previously established, you are not).

TW was mostly for low level alts anyway, and there are plenty of different ways to level in TWW, beyond that (and they are decently fast).

Maybe since you’ve already gotten your “main” AOTC and KSM, you should try it again on your next alt. Challenge yourself to see how many alts you can do that on before the next season. That’s a better challenge for someone that is more than an “average” player, like yourself.

I leveled my dh 71-80 just from tw didn’t even take long now at the same time I’d love the option to level anywhere because I’m burnt out of two story

This was an awful stealth nerf. There have been a bunch of threads about it. To date AFAIK, Blizzard has made no official statement on it. The more optimistic think this might be unintentional. IMHO it’s delierate to, like you say, force people to level in current content.

I don’t feel as strongly about this but I wouldn’t be opposed to it. For alts who have completed the campaign at least, I would support it.

100% agreed. It’s a deviation from DF and SL too. It’s also a very weird choice as we are about to have a 2.5 month patch/event focused on TW and adding Classic TW.

If TW dungeons are objectively worse than TWW dungeons, people won’t do TW dungeons. This is going to massively hurt participation.

I see Remix as the future of TW. Remix gave a way more consistent experience, particularly for newer players, than any levelling experience in Retail. Legion and even BFA would work superbly as a levelling experience (having levelled toons from 10 to 50 in both in SL).

We just came off Remix, which was 2-3 hours for 10-70 and the prepatch event that was 10 levels per 30-40 minutes. 8 hours is too slow. But it’s not even about speed. It’s about choice. 8 hours would feel a lot better if you could choose to do Legion Chromie Time instead.

No you didn’t. 10-70 could be done wholly in Remix. I have ~39 70s from Remix. In the prepatch, you could do 60-70 in the prepatch event in <40 minutes. I have another 40 70s from that.

Personally I’m not levelling another toon until TW gets fixed. If it doesn’t get fixed, it won’t happen until the 12.0 prepatch or the likely 11.2 Remix, whatever it is.

It’s not that extreme. I have 125 level 70+ toons. 80 of them had 2.5 hours /palyed or less when they dinged 70. I was doing 2 at a time most of the time (2 accounts) so this amounted to 100-120 hours of investment. That’s not even that much of a season.

People with alts tend to be ruthlessly efficient with their time, for obvious reasons.

I don’t believe this. If it were true, they would’ve nerfed XP over every level, not just 71+.

60 per account up until MoP Remix where it was raised to 65.

People (including myself) have posted numbers on this. It’s just not true. It wasn’t true in SL or DF and it’s only true in TWW at 71+. It’s like 90% less XP from mobs at 71+. That’s how bad it is.

It’s demonstrably not. I compared the Rookery to Utgarde Keep at 73 and the Rookery gave 56% more XP.

Which Blizzard is killing in 11.0.5 so this will no longer be true.
