Please stop exploiting your players (customers). Corruptions are not talents. We can’t just go to a city and change them with one click when you arbitrarily decide they are over or undertuned. People are investing a lot of time to set up their gear with the right corruptions only to have you erase weeks of work. This is not right. Either stop changing corruption tuning, or significantly lower the cost + put all corruptions available for purchase at the same time.
I don’t want to speculate on intent here, but this is seeming more and more like a shady gimmick to keep people grinding echoes until pre-patch, which–if true–would be a new low point in Blizzard games to me. In that case, stop using in-game systems to monetize our time… make the game fun and you won’t have to trick people into investing their time into it.
This is a quote taken from another post about this, but it summarizes things nicely:
"This really is a joke. This corruption rotation is just another way to keep the carrot in front of us while we chase it on a treadmill. Vers comes up, everyone stacks it and then it’s nerfed. What a great way to exercise player retention, huh?
It is ridiculous. Now to everyone farming 50k echoes to stack another corruption until it too gets nerfed."
Blizzard has shown that they have absolutely no respect for the player’s time. They have moved goal posts all expansion long, remember how many times Azerite traits were “balanced?” I remember certain traits getting 400% buffs and 75% nerfs.
Completely disagree, if something is broken, NERF IT.
stop caring about being disruptive, of someone chose to use an op fotm build they deserve to get nerfed and have to regear
Blizzard has always been too scared to fix balance issues because they ll ‘disrupt’ people who play FotM builds, a better game doesn’t care about fotmers
It’s not a build though, and it’s not really a choice. You check and see which corruption is best for you for the activity you do, then you stack said corruption. Unlike a build, you can’t adjust it overnight, and the only choice here is you choosing whether to itemize correctly or not.
So, you think players who do things incorrectly should be rewarded, while those who put in the extra time to min-max should be punished? Makes sense
Because they put Azerite Talents on the beta two weeks before the expansion came out and when players told them it was broken the second they saw it, Blizzard shrugged and said they’d fix it later.
Which seems to be the common design for WoW these days.
Anyone who believes any game with a half decent competitive aspect wont have balance problems is beyond delusional.
The games will ALWAYS have balance problems, some will always be better.
When people decide to swarm and play fotm and then get nerfed and cry, that is their fault.
You know what is gonna happen in shadowlands, the fotmers are gonna jump on the highest performing covenant for their class, that covenant is gonna get nerfed to the ground and these people are gonna come and cry to the forums that something predictable happened.
That’s what you do m8, I dont, I stuck strikethrough and severe because it gives me better gameplay and i stick with those corruption for all content.
If you want to be a tryhard and change builds after every single type of content you do, that is your choice, dont expect the game to pander to you.
And this is gonna continue with covenants, some covenant is gonna be better for raids and some other is gonna be better for m+
You CHOOSE where you excel and where you dont, you cant have everything like a child
Its an rpg, there’s advantages and disadvantages, stop wanting to have everything.
Also, in this specific instance, these corruptions were fine for months. They were only nerfed when they were added to the vendor.
How was anyone supposed to know they would be nerfed? People that got extremely lucky were already stacking verse corruptions and gushing wounds way before the vendor came out. Blizzard didn’t seem to care that those people got to wreck havoc for months.
That is absolutely a blizzard problem, they quite LITERALLY admitted GUSHING WOUNDS IS OP when stacked.
They LET IT BE OVERPOWERED because it was rare as if that excuses something being overpowered and only nerfed it after the vendor.
That was definitely a major flaw in blizzard’s balance idea though again, it was done so some crybabies who were using them dont come into the forums and cry how they are not allowed to be OP anymore.
Not all of us have the luxury of doing things incorrectly at 1500 io and 3/12 m. Not trying to patronize you, but just because you don’t care about nuance doesn’t mean people who do are tryhards.
There’s people who dont play the optimal class and spec doing mythic nzoth and higher keys, but hey, those must not exist ;^)
Also I love how people look at your profile and desperately try to find an excuse to attack you, before it was, oh you dont do heroic, oh you dont do 15s, oh you dont have aotc, now it is oh you havent done all dungeons, oh you only have done 3 mythic bosses. You see, you will never be satisfied when someone proves you wrong and will always try to find an excuse
Blizzard said no to tryhards, you arent allowed to change gear and trinkets during a m+ and you arent allowed to change covenant often so you use the best one for m+ and best one for raids.
