Escape doesn’t always stop crafting, lots of times it simply loses focus in some text box, sometimes it even opens up my music in Windows. Is there a key (other than escape) that will stop crafting when you press create all? (pressing escape like crazy will close all the windows which is a hassle.
Ya moving stops crafting, but you can’t move when focus is in a text box. The key can’t be something that could be typed into a text box, otherwise it would just be typed into the text box.
Click the right and left main buttons on your mouse at the same time. This causes you to move forward.

When a textbox has focus spacebar would make a space in the textbox. Mouse buttons might work, I’ll try that next time.
I guess I didn’t read the part about the text box because this seems like a really silly question…
What text box are you in while you’re crafting? If it’s another window, than no key would work because your key’s action would only be applicable to that window. If you’re in some text box in WoW, then Esc. the focused text box and then press the spacebar.
90%+ of the time when crafting I got the AH window open (usually with the focus on its textbox), as well as a crafting window, as well as all my bags.
Sometimes I have all these windows open but don’t have focus on a textbox though. I just want a method what works no matter what the situation is. Some things craft fast so being able to stop quickly is important without taking time to see if focus is on a textbox or not.

I always handle this by moving the character.
My default run/stop toggle is the spacebar, but as you point out, context matters. If my focus was in a textbox, I would move the character forward using the mouse – that’s the fastest.
I may be wrong but a macro for stop casting may work for crafting
/stopcasting
What would be a good button to bind that to, one that wouldn’t be interpreted as text in a textbox? For now pressing left and right mouse button to move forward seems to work OK as it works even when the textbox is in focus.
EDIT: I was making rings and running at the same time, so moving isn’t a sure shot way to stop crafting.
