Stop Coping by Saying Dragonflight is unpopular because of X expansion

Truth is if Dragonflight was enjoyable for players people would come back regardless if Shadowlands was bad or not.

Maybe people think the story is Disney Channel level writing, Maybe they dont like the cutesy art style , Maybe they hate the new ability bloat and systems… But it most definately isn’t because the expansion before it sucked.

Wod was light on content and pretty MEH but people came back in droves for Legion.

Stop Coping and accept something needs to change and Dragonflight is not the new benchmark.

blah blah blah.
I had enough fun in DF that I burned myself out with like 11 total characters.
just stop.
no one here is asking YOU to like it. stop pretending your opinions of it speaks for anyone else

I happen to like DF myself. Not as good as legion but a major step up from SL.

And yet we’ve seen quite often, “Shadowlands was so bad, I didn’t resub for DF.”

Just sayin’.

But also: speak for you, not others.

So what do you want changed, dear angry player?

I like DF better in many ways, but yeah, Legion had a decent flow going on without the systems and currencies and hokey mechanix being quite as obnoxious as BFA and SLs became.
DF took that currency thing to a whole new level into the atmosphere. lol. When they have to give us a new bag slot, you know they know they did something wrong lmao

Yea dude. I’m a big fan. I’m playing less but having more fun when I do. I feel like my time is respected more than it has been, and classes are engaging again. Not all of them. But I don’t have to like all of them. Other ppls play this game too homie.

The game is the way it is because it operates on a seasonal cycle of the same recycled content every patch. A new raid, new m+ season, new pvp season, and a new rep grinding zone… been that way for years now.

Therefor when people complete the content, or hit a wall in progression where they don’t feel it’s worth pushing any further, they move onto another game until the next season to rinse and repeat the same cycle.

Problem now is it seems each season people stick around for less and less time. But blizzard can’t reinvent the wheel by changing it, because they are under pressure to deliver this recycled content every 6 months and don’t have time to work on anything new or break the mold or they risk falling behind for the next season.

I’m only on the forums when I’m taking a break from playing and enjoying Dragonflight :older_woman:

Which is to say, I’m not on the forums often!

Yes. That is what most vocal players. They have tried new content. Too many players don’t want more or different.

We want the bad stuff to be good stuff, and the good stuff to be gooderish stuff!

The biggest drop-off happened between S1 and early S2 of Dragonflight. Yet ppl still try to blame Shadowlands (or BFA LOL).

Truth is Dragonflight is just to blame. There is nothing to do but M+, raid and PvP, and all those 3 things just are not that fun.

M+ does not even have seasonal affixes anymore. For some reason we are doing old dungeons like Freehold. Which means we have done that M+ dungeon for over 2.5 years!!! (except now we do it with boring loot and with no seasonal affixes).

Raids = I dont have to say much, pretty much universally agreed that even SL had better raids (Nathria).

PvP = Dead, I dont have to speak at all.

So what is left? An open world where there is nothing but catchup gear, which if you do bare minimum of endgame content there is no reason to chase (because it is catchup gear). Even as a open world player, doing new catchup gear every 2 months in a new patch with uninspired events is super boring. In Legion / BFA I would casually gear my alts. Now? Why even bother? All progress is invalidated within 2 months. Gear doesnt even get to last a patch for my alts lol.

They created a raid-log expansion and despite this, the raidlog numbers are worse than ever. The numbers we have access to dont lie. It is a shame we have the worst numbers in the history of WoW.

But we pray for the next expansion to be better.

no I say people say they enjoy it because Shadowlands was so bad. people are quick to accept something if its just slightly better than what came before. its still a bad expansion that would have been roasted to death by players 4-6 years ago. Its mediocre at best, but people praise it because BFA and SL were just absolutely atrocious experiences.

Yep but unfortunately the damage done from BFA and shadowlands caused a lot of players to completely move on all together from the game. My friends list of people I used to run keys with is a fraction of what it once was

I cant argue with that…

Everyone i used to know quit and play other games or just moved on.

I barely play myself and get bored super easy ever since mists of pandaria. Legion hooked me though then BFA started and i can barely play due to boredom.

The game/franchise needs better stories – ones we care about. Everyone thinks Chris will right the ship, but it’s going to take time to make stories we care about. Even the almighty Metzen can’t fix this in the span of 1-2 expansions. Buckle up folks, we’re in this for the long haul til stories matter again.
