There is literally nothing Blizzard can do at this point. People suggested in P2 ways to balance the factions and the vast majority of Horde whined and complained about them all.
Horde have 3 very distinct advantages over alliance in AV. Racial abilities, starting area, and a back door. Why would people bother queuing into such a massive disadvantage? The advantage Horde has is so much that even premades would still sometimes lose.
So, now you guys got your wish again without thinking about the long term ramifications. Stop whining and live with it.
This is extremely over exaggerated. Horde racials are so marginally better it’s not really going to make a difference between a win or loss.
Escape artist has a 1 min CD. It’s a really good racial given the amount of slows and snares. It’s pretty darn close to hardiness. Stone form is quite good as well. Fear Ward is amazing and paladins are all around better support in PvP compared to shamans. Only a good elemental/resto shaman is at all comparable to a holy paladin.
This is only really impactful when you don’t defend. If your team doesn’t defend then they simply don’t know how to AV.
Both sides have a back door. Point is moot.
Honestly I think this is more due to the overall attitude of Alliance and less to do with any actual disadvantage. If anything Alliance losses are more due to having more AFKers and Botters.
Which is why it’s fun to roll Alliance and put Hordies in their place.
Most of them have forgotten what it means to fight and when I engage them, there is a long duration of panic where they clearly aren’t sure what to do. They arent used to being attacked.
Being the dominant faction has made you all soft, easy prey.
Never that. Removing all incentive to play the under-represented faction is gonna get a hard pass from me every time. It’s just bad design. It’s also one of the bigger flaws with TBC, Arenas, and later expansion PVP as well.
Yea it’s honestly really rare that I face a horde player that is good at all. They’re generally pretty smart about how to play the objectives but when it comes to actual combat they’re all just as bad as the alliance.
Those people are trolling, as is the case with this forum.
There are conditions that have lead to this situation though, and it’s rooted in aspects of everything mentioned, but it’s also ignoring half of the perspective that created these conditions.
Horde rankers don’t whine about queues cause they can take a one hour break between every AV;
Racial abilities favor hordes but it’s efficiency is exaggerated;
AV is unbalanced for both factions. Horde base is like a swiss cheese with no npcs while alliance’s base has a ton of npcs. It’s very difficult to solo an ally tower where it’s super easy for an alliance. Etc.
Fact is, alliance continue to queue despite the so-called massive disadvantage. The queus are stable since all allies rankers left for WSG. Cause alliances want reputation or just a chance at winning at pvp.
I’ve seen so many key turn orc warriors and undead rogues, backpedaling troll hunters, undead mages, warlocks and priests that I’m positive horde are not more skilled in AV. They just get by with it in AV. In WSG it doesn’t go so well for them.
It’s pretty funny how often the blame is put on racials for being the reason behind the imbalanced PvP, when paladins make a larger impact by far. Go into any AV and you see immediately that alliance on average has double the healers that horde does. When a class (a pretty popular one at that) specifically plays a healing/support role and partakes in a lot of PvP, it makes a really large impact on the meta of the game.
I do think that the majority of the imbalance between factions comes down to the horde map advantages, and the horde’s mentality, partly due to minmaxing, and partly due to having to wait over an hour per game.
Since the AFK ban wave, alliance has immediately gotten a lot better at holding off the horde in AV, and all of my games for the last 2 weeks have been well over a half hour and I have lost a few as well, which was not the case prior to the bans. This is pretty solid evidence that a very large reason behind the disparity is due to alliance players not trying as hard as horde as a whole, likely because of their instant queues, and probably also because of low morale due to the loss rate, which is a perpetual cycle.
