Seriously. Why every single time that I do the gear update (or now logging in with time runners) the game clears my action bars? There is zero reason for this to happen. I mean ZERO. And don’t give me hand holding new players as an excuse. I am sick to death of having the correct setup only to have everything EVERYTHING cleared and rearragned in a way that DOES NOT work and forces me to spend more time and set them up again. For a company that is all about accessibility, you’re dropping the ball by resetting the action bars. Be better and LEAVE MY ACTION BARS ALONE.

lol, defiantly annoying, but it’s given me the chance to standardize my layout amongst my characters. I have lots of the various types of Druids, and getting them all the same setups is a bonus.

I dont get why remix character had their action bars cleared. Yeah I had a few buttons for the remix specific powers/items but there was no need to wipe out everything else.

This is honestly why I never touch the gear updates now. I tried it once and it cleared my bars so I’m never doing it again

Agreed and +1. Action Bars should NEVER be touched or cleared for veteran players or any that do not request it. There should be a dialog box that comes up at character login, when this is intentional due to a major patch, that asks, “Would you like us to clear your action bars?” and then a Yes or No.

I used the gear update thing once and would never do it again. The inconvenience of it far outweighs any benefit from it.

It happens. Not much you can do.
I have so many alts. I literally have a folder for each class with screenshots of my hotbars.
So when something gets cleared or I just make a new toon. I have my hotbars on hand at any time I need.
Paint + screenshot is an op combo for making a streamline hotbar folder.

Dunno if this helps, but my bars were being cleared every time I logged in until I turned off Bartender. Spent 4 hours fiddling with the new Edit Mode till I had something similar then they stayed put.

I had to fix up my monk and shadow priests bars but it wasn’t too bad this time. Annoying though.

Just gotta make sure you update them every now and then.
Some of my old bars go back to legion lol.
But i literally use lightshot to screenshot and select only my hotbar.
Throw it in paint. And do that for all 3 specs. So I only have 1 file per class.
Boom done.

Actually there is. How gear updates/Boosts/Timerunners work is they don’t just add items or levels to your character, they delete and recreate your character. That’s why everything is reset aside from options saved to the character name in your local files. in other aspects it’s literally a new character.

There are addons to save / restore your bars. I highly recommend using one, especially if you have more than 1 character of the same class.

- I’m using a fork of Action Bar Profiles (Saver) that I personally have been maintaining since Shadow Lands launched, which I found there is another person maintaining a fork as well. Mine’s not public, his is. h ttps://github.com/rhodan412/ActionBarProfiles I’ve not had a ton of time to compare his to mine, as it wasn’t a simple diff because I’ve added a bunch of custom stuff to mine, and took radically different approaches to the SL / DF / and now TWW changes than he did.
