They couldn’t even at least give her MATCHING pants.
it reminds me of the black box censorship before pixelated censorship became a thing.
“I was only pretending to be stupid.”
Good day, mr. Tyrygosá. I believe I might understand your distaste for recent changes. Yet, I believe your concerns are not about nudity itself or any other aesthetical elements. I will explain myself: the original design in the WarCraft universe was made by nerds who used to grow up on comic books, heavy metal music, films and tabletop games from the 80s. The old WarCraft visuals have clearly been inspired by the 80s fashion, including the design of female characters. I think that the current team of artists and game designers have a completely different mindset. They, of course, try to imitate the visual artstyle of the old WarCraft but they are not able to sustain and capture the overall atmosphere of the original games. Modern WarCraft rather looks like something created by Disney or Pixar, than a cheesy 80s fantasy fiction. My point was, that you might be disappointed in the current state of the WarCraft universe and insignificant changes, such as giving Vanessa a pair of trousers, serve as a reminder that WarCraft has changed and there is no turning back. I would recommend contacting a few friends, so you could gather together, buy some beer and work on an interesting D&D campaign. As for the game industry, we are able to choose a project which would bring joy and fun. This is what video games are about, after all.
Amen to this.
i dont see whats fun about censorship lol
Seems like we have a different definition of ‘fantasy’…to me fantasy in regards to WoW is the fact that my human character is living her every day life slinging spells, teleporting across the world, having a glass of wine in a tavern with her elf, dwarf, werewolf and dragon friends, and can ride around on a dragon/magical horse/gryphon etc…
The ‘fantasy’ you seem to be talking about implies late night programs your kids shouldn’t watch or one’s celebrity of choice ^_~
That is the thing. If you do not enjoy playing WoW (for many reasons, including recent visual changes), then perhaps the time has come to spend your free time and money on something else? I am afraid there is no way back for the current WarCraft. As much as I share your point of view, there are many other important elements in the game which should be corrected. I fear Blizzard is not going to change anything, so you will have to either accept the game as it is or find another project. Luckily, there are many decent projects to choose from.
imagine living in such a society that people can take time to complain about this sort of thing.
it means nothing, what you are doing is just as bad as blizzard caving it to other complaints.
True, wonder why they keep changing them because of their outrage.
yea this issue is just one of many at this point. I’m just trying to preserve what little is left in the game.
Ah yes, the valorous pants crusader.
imagine living in a society that thinks this is normal.
Im a guy so i guess i dont really have the full context but ive never really understood why people are always so concerned with what other women are wearing. Seems to be a way for them to project their insecurities in a way that seems “for womens rights”
It’s about freedom when you get down to it. This is not the first time blizzard has done this and it wont be the last.
You have already done what you could. You shared your concerns, but that is the most you can do in your current position. As I said before, there are many other big issues with WoW which should be prioritized.
If you are truly disappointed in recent changes, I would suggest involving yourself in other projects and hobbies.
Oh, the crying over someone putting on pants… This thread is golden.
Quite a heated argument indeed. A trousers of discord.
no, actually, continue “censoring” characters because i’m tired of seeing scantily clad female characters in a fantasy game while the vast majority of male characters have actual practical armor.
why do you need the women in this game to have less clothes? is it really so important to you? because to me, as a woman, what is important is showing strong women characters who don’t need to be reduced to eye candy.
There, fixed that for you
