I don’t even call classic “vanilla” because i feel its an insult to actual vanilla.
Classic is 1.13
TBCC is the current retail 2.0 version
TBC is actual TBC
And Vanilla is vanilla, the true game.

That is true… and i have nothing against people that want to play retail, all cudos to them…
But alot of us came to classic and tbc, with the promiss of getting a classic experience, and its not about some changes, but cash shopes and boosts is far far beyond some changes, and definatly isnt within the scope of the classic experience…
its about Activision/Blizzard out right lying…
Some went into it with too much wishful thinking.
When I personally thought of the “classic experience”, it was the classic community, etc. I knew it was NOT going to be like it was back in the day. We have the newer generation of gamers who were going to inevitably play and wonder why they’re not getting free purple gear just for logging in, etc. That and any player too used to modern QoL changes.
So when they said “You think you do, but you don’t”… this is partially what they meant. I think in part, they knew it was not going to be a 1:1 experience.
Now, the boosts, I will agree with. That IS their fault.
im not sure, the exodus of players to FFXIV isnt exactly a win ?
The suits don’t think that way. They think “boost = big money now, do it”
I just cant play TBC my main is still 61. I try to forget about the boosts, but every time I log in I see a derpy freaking lizard. /cry I just get an instant reminder of instant boost with max skills and store mounts. Turns the classic experience completely off

If you understood how dead the game would be without the level boost you people wouldnt complain about it.

OP is in fact right. Classic = Vanilla classic. WotLK is called “Classic WotLK”. If you just say classic, then you are talking about the vanilla classic.
The game is still a faithful enough reproduction of the original. Play and enjoy.

Neither TBC nor Wrath are Classic WoW. They are merely retail’s old expansions.
Except this is objectively false. When the vast majority of people just say “Classic” they are referring to the latest release in the Classic series. If someone asks someone else if they play Classic they currently mean Wrath Classic in the overwhelming number of cases.

I already did and stuck with Classic era instead of TBC im lvling in skyfury for now until there r boosts.
Its just depressing that the playerbase is like this now… but oh well there r always private servers, I trust them alot more than blizzard anyway

With TBC Classic players now being forcibly migrated to Wrath Classic, “TBC Classic is the New Retail” is a claim from last year that has aged like wine.

Tbc is definitely a classic it was wow’s first expansion and where a lot of the player base started playing.
