Hey look, I know there is a small subset of us that continuously talks down to non-raiders or thinks that somehow the way you play the game is less valid, but we’re not all like that. I’m usually more than willing to assist casuals in low keys or even invite them into Normal raids for a carry every now and again. Everyone deserves to experience all of the content. And no, I don’t “sell” runs. That’s a pretty low thing to do IMO.
Do I think that people that log in and just do a WQ here and there deserve raid level gear? No, I don’t. I believe that rewards could be commensurate with the difficulty of the content you are currently doing. News flash guys: That isn’t elitism, it’s progression. It has been in the game since day freaking 1. I remember doing BGs in vanilla against a guild that had full T2 gear and they were just roflstomping everything in their path.
I fully support anyone and everyone that wants to play this game how they want. You pay your sub just the same as I pay mine. The name calling and bad feelings just need to ease up a bit.
As I stated above, I’m happy to help folks through content if needed. Heck, if you’re horde, reach out and I’ll be happy to help if I’m not otherwise engaged in something. Maybe I’ll hear from y’all, maybe I won’t, but in either case, I wish you ALL the best of luck in this new expansion!
It isn’t meant to be an insult or even degrading. I myself used to be super casual about this game but then I got into raiding and M+ and haven’t looked back. There is nothing wrong with it.
I don’t generally have a problem with anyone, unless they are a jerk or something like that. Labels that get thrown around don’t mean much to me, I have my own definitions. So when I see a jerk that’s what I call 'em.
The only label I might think to myself as a bad thing is a “try-hard”, I think they piss everyone off…
Raiders aren’t elitist. Raiders that want to remove lower end content because they think people that don’t raid at a specific level shouldn’t get gear or experience raid content through LFR are elitist.
Everyone plays the game their way. I raid, pvp, and run mythics with my friends cause its a fun experience. I usually dont interact with other players unless we need to form a bigger group, I rarely, or maybe never encountered an elitist, and the only people who I would label as “elite” in world of warcraft of all places, are mythic raiders. My sentiment is, if you dont wear mythic raiding gear, your just as casual as me.
Casual isn’t a bad thing. Please read above. It’s not meant to be insulting, degrading, or anything. Again, I used to be super casual but have since changed up my playstyle. Try understanding the meaning instead of getting hung up on a single word.
Raiders aren’t elitists… They’re neckbeards that suffer from a lack of ability or skill. Their gaming mechanics rely upon 20 addons to tell them “Dragon scary! Fire hurt!”
Casual vs elitist is all relative. I’d call myself a casual. What consistently gets confused is that casual does not equal bad at the game. Casuals can get gear and make it through torghast. Bad players may not.
But it is an insult used my elitists. When has anyone around here used it in an actual normal sense. Its always, “casuals are ruining this, and stop catering to the casuals”.
Well, like, that’s just your opinion man…We get it. You PvP. I think elitism flows from that neck of the woods far more than from raiders. Why can’t you all just accept that people don’t play the game the same as you? That’s why there are SO many avenues and ways to play it.
