I’m seeing a lot of people asking for retail-like stuff. Like more than 2 professionsor profession vendors. If you want non gathering professions, then gather the items, and swap out after your entire bank, and inventory is full to do the professions you want.
If you’re asking for this type of stuff, to make your experience easymode, then you’re a retail andy. And worse than the people using level 60s to heal and kill open world boost.
It wasn’t just about some one specific’s thread. It’s about, mostly, the profession changes people are asking for. And other things, like the one about making HC rogue-like. There’s probably about 2 dozen threads this thread is directed twords.
“SF but they give us a vendor to buy all the items!”
These are the type of players the RUIN the game. They are the ones buying carries in retail, buying gold in HC and SoD, etc. I really don’t see the fun in this.
They need to go to Dragonflight or SoD or some other version of WoW that’s already been desecrated by wish lists.
As far as wish lists, I think we need to see more “achievement buffs” like SF, maybe one for equiping low quality gear, or only grouping with your “duos.” That’s how you expand classic HC. Not by making it easy mode or like SoD.
Nobody since the creation of the hardcore addon has wanted enchanting to be effectively impossible to level pre 60. Nobody is leveling mining, then alchemy, then bs, then enchanting. Nobody is getting engi 200-something so they can make devilsaur set. Instead, fun parts of the game are just locked out. Who is benefiting from this? It’s a far cooler achievement to, say, build your own devilsaur set pre 60 than to have to level engi, drop it, then skin 8000 low level mobs to level LW.
Want more achievements? Cool, give an achievement for those who make a runed arcanite rod without using a profession vendor. There, now that one psycho has his notoriety and the rest of the community can enjoy the game.
The more rules you add (self-found) the more difficult obtaining everything you want will be. This is the same mindset as those who think “hardcore” (don’t die, nothing else matters) should be “hard mode”(old addon 1-dungeon stupid rule). Self-Found just means no economy between players, nothing else. The OPTION is there. You just don’t like it. It would take you 100 times as long to obtain the same result, in professions. But, that’s what you signed up for, with SF.
Uh.
Hardcore as a game mode that players have supported as been around way longer than that.
Most of the folk that have been playing HC well before that milestone that I have spoken with do not want and are not interested in a profession vendor. It undermines the SF ruleset is their view.
You can have all the enchanters you want or trade for enchants with the standard HC ruleset so a vendor is not necessary.
ymmv
I think petri is ok. Since it was previously in the game, before HC was introduced. Yes, that includes leaving group and being auto booted. Anything that was already in the game, I feel is ok. They need to remove the 1-dungeon per day rule as well. Since it can be hard to find a dungeon group. And, it would be nice to do multiple dungeons with the same group that wants to do them. But, I’ll log on tomorrow and none of them will be on to do another run, or I can’t find but a single person to do a run with.
I feel bubble hearth should be allowed, since it’s part of classic before HC was introduced. I do see the purpose of removing that, because it’s not available for everyone. But, it should still be allowed.
It’s not really an exploit. Just because we’re playing a little different, doesn’t make something previously usable an exploit. Also, people are happy to use evade spots and fence kiting exploits, which are ACTUAL exploits.
petri is fine… using it to exploit the 1 minute timer that ejects you from dungeons and obviously was not intended to be some kind of life saver mechanic is not
