I don’t play and have never played any CoD games on battle.net. I have the battle.net tab for WoW classic open and I have advertising banners covering the entire battle.net launcher for CoD games I’ve never played before I can play WoW. Stop doing it, or give us an option to opt out of them. That is all.
You do have the option.
Do you mind pointing that out to me then? I can’t see any setting in the bnet launcher
Right click the icons and remove from favorites.
CoD isn’t even listed, it’s not in my favorites.
Can you screenshot it?
I’ve since closed the ad, but I can show you that I don’t own any CoD game and that it’s not currently listed in my favorites if that helps.
The new launcher is annoying enough that I just load the game from the executable until I get a mismatch and then start the battlenet app to update and go back to loading by the exe.
Use to like the blizzard app, but now it’s just as bad as Epic game store, Xbox app, steam and the rest all full of adds
You could do what I do and ignore all the ads. It’s very relaxing.

Same with ignoring all the AFKers in dungeons. It’s very relaxing
I tease. We’re like almost the same person except for that one thing, so far LOL
Obviously you ignore the ads, but why wouldn’t you be opposed to being advertised to for no reason?
I empathise. I really miss the days where I could just install a game on my PC and play said game, without needing to go through some bespoke launcher where the company can advertise its products, log additional personal information, and exert additional pressure over DRM. It’s a small thing but it’s undeniably for the benefit of the company and not the consumer, and wouldn’t fly in any other medium of entertainment.
I still grimace every time I think about installing Origin on my PC for my physical copy of Battlefield 3, or purchasing a physical copy of Civilisation V and being forced to download Steam to install it. But now that’s just the norm.
As someone mentioned earlier, launch the game from the wow.exe and not through the battle.net launcher. Ezpz
It isn’t for no reason, it’s to get people to buy Blizz’s products, which pays for Bobby’s yachts, which makes Bobby happy so Bobby doesn’t raise the subscription fees for the games I enjoy. It’s a win-win.

First world problems.
I also don’t play, have never played, nor intend to play CoD. With that being said, this is as much a non-issue as anything I’ve ever heard. Why does it bother you to see an ad? Who cares? Lol
Just click “play” and move on. What’s the issue…
Isn’t there some option to open wow without using that dumb launcher?
i got a solution, just dont look at it
I have all the Activision games removed. All I have is WoW, WC3(not reforged), and SC1. STILL get the ads
I guess sales have dipped so badly that they now have to advertise their games to people who are already playing their games…
It’s like getting advertisements for HBO when you are actually watching and paying for HBO. I am guessing they are struggling to pay Bobby without having to fire another couple of hundred folks?
Still very irritating…
Thanks.
