Stop adding catch-up mechanisms

You can opt out of it at any Innkeeper.

youre the reason people cheat lol

You can opt out of all these, or simply delete any gold you don’t feel you should have.

Making leveling easier for alts and increasing quest gold is the exact opposite of adding paid boosts.

What the Classic dev team is doing right now is hurting botters, goldsellers, and boosters. It is actually brilliant. I wonder if some of the people against the changes are goldsellers themselves.

I’m not particularly a historian on this game, having only started playing shortly after Naxx released in 2006, but I don’t recall a lot of the gold farming or exp grinding being anywhere near the level of efficiency or efficacy they were in Classic in 2019, let alone SoD. In fact, I’m pretty sure of two things:

  • Joana’s fastest time to hit level 60 when TBC released was 4 days 20 hours /played, and I don’t recall it getting that much lower with the character leveled on TBC’s release. This is considered sub-pleb time these days by a lot of people.
  • k4li’s 5 days /played and 1200g acquired by AoE farming as a mage to level 60 and Wowhobbs’s 100-300g a “night” AoEing SM Cath in two pulls is kind of anemic compared to solo hunters getting upwards of 150g/hr in DM in 2019.

Or, we - by which I mean gamers as a whole - have optimized the game to death, and this is not just what WoW is these days, nor is this just what the MMO genre is these days, but we’ve optimized video games in general to death, which is kind of the nature of living in the age of instant information and constant stimulation. Not saying this is good or preferable, but it’s being realistic about it.

lying liar who lies.

If you don’t like it, go play era.

Retail is irrelevant, as those characters move forward with the story.
Your failure to see at a glance how the two topics differ entirely borders on disingenuous.

100% agree with OP. The pain is what makes the gain more enjoyable. Getting fast tracked to endgame is a terrible experience and the reason why retail can’t attract new players. It’s the grind to max level and the feeling of accomplishment or completion that hooks players.

I see it both ways, because I have no time cuz dad, but Im used to retail vanilla being what it is.

All I ever say is if they make these things happen I dont want to see a single goddang post about being bored with 5 alts.

Too many people are addicted to video games or its their only escape mechanism which leads to highly defensive posts about their subjective reality being shattered. Causing these kinds of responses from blue posts and then these posts in response.

Just go touch grass if even thinking about this game makes your heart rate go up.

Its the reason why I had to stop playing heroes of newerth lol.

seems fine

Guess what? If you don’t like SoD
you don’t have to play it :open_mouth:

You are aware that wow marketed as the less punishing and grindy mmo when it released right? That was its major selling point is that it wasn’t as grindy as everquest or ultima. Its was and I quote “the mmo for people who don’t have allot of time” in its marketing.

The FOTM rerollers commentary is kind of funny. People that were overly interested in that already had everything at 40. Probably had the BM moon stuff etc already. Even casual me had multiple 40’s, I just hadn’t been leveling everything like I did in P1.

I did, Season of Discovery.

Very happy with the xp boost. Grinding SM on 5 toons sounded awful, now it will be semiberable.

I think that’s a good thing. It allows people to spread out their attention and broaden their perspectives. It will cut down on the nerf whining (in both directions) if everyone has 3-4 characters. People will feel less emotionally invested in any one class compared to the way it originally was.

I remember telling my sister about WoW and her EQ guild told her it was Baby’s first MMORPG.

Yeah, by the players.

Not all of us are here to farm

I hate vanilla weirdos obsessed with fake work In a video game
