Stonevault: overlap cube with vents?

I’m not sure how to tank this overlap. I take the group to the center, then the cube+lava gets cast at the exact same time as the vents. So you have no idea where the “safe” vent is going to be until the cube is already in the center.

Is this intended to overlap?

The vents fire up just a few seconds before the cube comes out. You have to react very quickly. I think it’s a bit rough. It’s almost like a soft enrage.

No this was the vents after the cube was moving to the center.

That’s more like a hard enrage. I’m not sure I’ve made it that far into the fight.

This was the second cube, just a minute or so into the fight.

I’ve been able to avoid that one, but just barely. The vents fire up and the cube comes out immediately. I have to stop what I’m doing and move.

This is a bugged spell queue, shouldn’t be happening.

To be clear. This is.

Cube spawns, cube in position, vents spawn, cube detonates.

Which is not a sequence that happened during beta keys.

Yeah that’s what is happening.

yeah my group is wiping to this issue. Timers seem way off half the time.

I think it depends on whats happening with interrupts. Appears you can nudge the spell Queue of the small guy so these overlap.

you can stand immediately to the left or right of a turned on vent and still avoid the cube waves. Here’s the excerpt from Method’s Stonevault guide

To avoid [the cube waves] you’ll want to position yourself on the edges of the room on the diagonals of the box. If you are near an inactive vent you can stand directly on top of it and be safe, just make sure to move off of it quickly once the waves and 20yd circle have disappeared. If you are near an active vent, you can stand directly beside the vent on the left or right to avoid the lethal ticking damage it does while also dodging the waves from the cube.

Had this today as well! This needs to be fixed asap… Boss needs to be deterministic to even be played at all. Range kick after cube is cringe af as well. The whole boss is a mess

We also had a warlock in the group. Curse of tongues?

how is the range kick cringe? I dunno…I think people need to stop making all-melee key groups. There are plenty of bosses wehre all melee is a rough ride. Get some ranged in your parties.

I can’t even get people who have interrupt bound on their spell bar.

well, it’s frustrating that you can have a situation where the safe spot is on the opposite side of the room from the caster, so nobody is in range to kick it.

also we had this cube issue 2 pulls in a row today. it’s not every pull, so it’s tough to identify what’s causing it.

Stonevault honestly feels like a full raid with how awful it feels to run. The first boss is fine. A lot of damage, but simple mechanics and checks. Play right you’ll do fine. Second boss just feels god awful. Constant aoe damage, can’t kill crystals too fast, can’t grab too many crystals, small room with swirls everywhere obscuring sight, and it’s rough. Then we get the duo boss where we had the same issue you had.

She set up the cube, THEN the vents started to fire up as he was mid-cast. We didn’t even know it was starting until the cube was flying towards us, THEN the vents flared up. On another attempt the lava actually ended up blocking safe vents, so that was fun. Absolutely ruined my brother’s key trying to finish it. It’s the only M+ we haven’t been able to time.

Final boss is great though. Lot of stuff going on but it’s easy to understand, damage is manageable if you’re paying attention. That’s a great fight imo. The other two can go back in the forge cuz they are MISERABLE to fight.

Two middle bosses could use some nerfs.
