Right? Furthermore, the stimulus isn’t protected. So people who owe debts through courts/already in collections can get it taken away.
FWIW: My mom got hers today. It’s 5:24 AM (we’re early risers :P) and it got deposited around midnight.
I basically immediately write off people like you from serious discussion.

Got mine this morning. While I don’t need it due to both my jobs still forcing me to work, I am going to bank it for a rainy day.
still waiting on mine. hopefully soon, I want to pick up $400 worth of groceries and chill inside for a few weeks.

It does not affect return next year, doesn’t count against what you receive for the return next year (or this year, or any year.)

The CNBC one says to watch out for a scam, if you are one of the people who receive more than $1200 due to dependents or such. The scam is someone saying they are the IRS, saying they overpaid you and you have to return some of it. The IRS will never contact you saying this (also the scammers will do something like say the money needs to be in the form of gift cards, etc.)

This will semi help makeup up for a horrid tax return this year, which will probably be just as horrid next year.
My wife can’t work during this, so a good chunk will go to the bills she normally covers, then food, then birthday gifts for my kids that are both coming in the next few weeks, then if I can do it I’ll pre-order Shadowlands finally. Maybe buy a store mount, maybe.
Unfortunately, not entirely. My neighbour, who’s spent the last weeks/months/whatever crying that she can’t take her $250k motor home on a trip to some tacky over-priced tourist trap in Texas to sit on the beach and bar hop, while I’m over here hoping I can travel to get to my mum to help her out soon (she’s in poor health and unemployed), got her check today, too.
Like you, I hope that’s the exception, and that people in much deeper need are getting their checks quickly.

Wait, what? I thought they were doing direct deposit. There’s even an article about how some banks are taking part of the check to pay for any overdrafts (that other banks have waived during this time).
Got mine overnight. A lot of the banks update at 3 am eastern as it’s a new day for most at that time. So dont just check at all hours, once a day is good.
The IRS should have the web-portal opened by the 17th so folks can check their status on their stimulus checks.
Got mine a few hours ago. Only a couple hundred bucks. Wasn’t expecting anything…so anything is nice. Going right into savings.
No it was trump that demanded it and the treas sec had to go to congress get it approved otherwise he would have went on another tantrum.
Many local and national news stations have shown the exc memo from trump to treas and the treas sec to congress.
He basically wants it so he can point to it say “i helped you remember?”

I have not recieved mine yet, but i dont need it either. I’m a essential healthcare worker and i get paid semi decently so i’m in no rush.
dont drive yourself insane with it, take a nap…if it doesnt hit early AM between 6-8, check it again around 3pm… same as tax refunds
i wasnt expecting one at all, then remembered that i had got hurt and lost out on a lot, that and being self employed i was on the fence…my wife checked the bank this morning on her way home from getting a new washer (our water here is hell on appliances) and seen we was up 2700 instead of down 800 pending
