Dalaran Load Screen, Hands down, the worst one I have come across ever
I remember people making threads about it last expansion; No it is not my computer. I just bought a new one for BFA and it still takes a whole 30-45 seconds, and sometimes results in DC
Have ran it on 3 different computers, still the same issue. Last Expansion already tried the work-arounds and did not fix it.
Was about to buy something I needed and had to port to Dalaran to get to the Shrine, but, that didn't happen because it took 1 whole minute, DC'd me, then by the time I logged back on he wasn't online anymore.
It's definitely something internally wrong with that specific screen. Just happy that I never have to come here rarely ever because Legion is already behind, When before, I had to come here all the time for Class Hall and such.
edit: All other load screens only take me 10-20 seconds max. Especially the new BFA ones, which am very thankful that it's not like the Dalaran one
There are some commands that drastically reduce loading screen time. Though, i forget them, would love to know them again.
edit: found one, just used it and drastically decreased my dal load time.
/console worldPreloadNonCritical 0
do /reload after to save it
suggest making a macro, idk if its account wide or if it'll save forever.

It actually reduces the time greatly if I turn my graphics all the way down... but i'm not going to do that just because I need to port there lol..

/console worldPreloadNonCritical 0 and disable streaming in the launcher.
It would probably be a lot faster if we weren’t waiting to re-establish connection to voice chat service after it disconnects every single time. They really shouldn’t have added that feature to the game anyway.

You don't have to turn everything down, but bringing view distance down a bit can help.
Or WoW could use more than one core on your CPU. It's 2018, most people have at least 4 cores now.

I know right. Is there a way to get rid of that? It's pretty annoying tbh. Every time I hearth I get that Red Text of what you are talking about

The devs have gone into this before.
WOW does use some multi-threading, as does DirectX. It would take a MASSIVE rewrite of the entire engine to do a properly multi-threaded, multi-core aware backend right.
And then they would lose access to single core systems. When the accountants figure out that that loss is acceptable, we'll get a proper backend overhaul again.

Thanks, will bookmark this and run that message next time I plan to Hearth there
Honestly it could be an add on issue, I know you said you bought a new computer though you did not mention what you are running in it. I just timed my first zone into Dalaran and it took 7 seconds from load screen to standing there.
If you're using the same addon's on this PC as the last, or the other's you tested it on then try turning them off and back on one at a time till you see which one effects it.
My old PC took a bit longer to load Dal then this one does, though it was not as long as you're experiencing. Usually that was just the first load screen after starting the game up for a session.
Also, if you are running WoW on a SSD especially a M.2 NVME SSD you will notice a huge increase in performance for load screens ect... If you're running WoW on a mechanical HDD it's going to be slower than what others say they get for load times.
