Still Possible To Convert Heroic Aberrus Gear With Catalyst?

I’m noticing the new Time Rift gear and Dreamsurge gear is upgradable with 10.2 currency and has unlimited use in the catalyst to make LFR and normal lvl Aberrus mog.
However, in the past we were also able to convert up to heroic VoI and Aberrus gear, as long as the i.lvl was slightly higher.

Today I played around with a few TR/Dreamsurge pieces, upgrading them using flightstones and up to epic levels with some whelp crests. The highest mog I am able to get so far is normal Aberrus.

Has anyone tried upgrading with drake crests and using the catalyst yet, to see if we can still get mog for heroic?
Hoping it’s just an oversight for now.

It actually takes on LFR mog, even when fully upgraded to 450.

I’ve managed to get some pieces to turn into normal mog at least but yes LFR too. I think Dreamsurge gear starts at normal, but before if we upgraded it we’d get the heroic Aberrus mog too.

I wish Blizzard would explain how season 2 gear converts to season 2 tier in 10.2. 428 gear from dreamsurge vendor converts to normal, but 415 gear is not eligible for the catalyst, for whatever reason. I upgraded 428 dreamsurge gear and it would not convert to heroic no matter how high I upgraded – always stayed at normal for catalyst. I got a 428 belt from time rift vendor, but the catalyst will not recognize it as normal level even though I did not have the normal tier belt for that character. Seems messy and clunky, now.

Really? Because I could not get it to go past LFR but maybe I was doing under 428. I think I tried a 441 epic and it was still LRF, iirc.

You’re right about heroic tho; nothing I upgraded converted to heroic mog.

I have gone on each of my alts and purchased armor tokens from the 415 dreamsurge vendor and converted them to missing Aberrus tier slots. However, you’re unable to upgrade them after converting. So I’m wondering if there’s a level that I can upgrade the 415 gear to so I can get the normal appearance. Or is it just stuck at raid finder level and I have to get the 428 tokens to get the normal appearance?

EDIT: Tried the 428 gear and upgraded. Still LFR appearance.
