Still nothing on Totemic and Stormbringer

The difference between mage and Shaman is Mage turn Arcane into fire and ice. Meanwhile Shaman use it from the element itself.

Thank you for taking the time to find this.

While context is always important, it is alarming for a dev to come out and say that population factors into balance in any sense. It adds explanation to when they have said things like not wanting to change a meta people are already playing, and why certain classes are always good, and why they don’t put more effort into balancing…

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Thing is we aren’t that low on the tree of popularity, 5th overall, actually. Rogues are the least popular.

I wonder how they come up with those numbers. Under the specs tab it shows MM hunters and balance druids as the two most common specs in the game, and yet logs and “the eye test” show them to be two of the rarest.

I see boomkins everywhere. For hunters I see tons of marksman in BGs but everywhere else I mainly see BM.

Best guess it’s drawing from the armory, like most stats pages. So, it’s not only grabbing people doing content we might also do but most everyone else, iirc there’s a setting to block the sharing of character data.

Same. Just did a raid last night with three of them running the star form illusion. I’ve raided with a few Survival Hunters as well as several MM’s and BM’s.

As far as specs we see or don’t see… I never see Restoration Shaman and only know one Elemental Shaman, most of the time it’s Enhancement shaman… which is the lowest spec by popularity.

Yeah cause bot gold farmer use them for starfall stack. So they add quite fast when u have 20 bot farming everywhere

That data appears to be at least 3 years old

I’ve come around to your side. At the time i was patient and thought give it time to work on everything but it’s getting more concerning.

Cause there is no specific designer available for shaman. The designers need to finish work on the “main” classes before “sparing” time on shaman. What a shame to blizzard team.

Why would they do that with hero specs when they don’t do it with class specs. Look at hunters. Survival is far less played than beastmaster or marksman and then go look at all the “changes” its received in DF. A couple 2-4% damage increases across the board and otherwise they’ve been /ignored hard by the devs. Their talent tree is full of 2 point talent nodes that just do % increase to abilities, basically the DF beta talent trees. So yeah, what’s going to really happen is people will migrate to one hero tree or another and Blizzard will just /ignore the forgotten ones, unless one of their devs really likes the one(s) being ignored then they’ll redo those half a dozen times until people are forced to play it.

What a terrible idea. I’d prefer a balance of lightning and fire (hence the ELEMENTAL spec name)

Hopefully Storm build dies in a ditch then.

I liked totems the way they used to be.

It is a big nerf for resto the way they used to be tough. You were limited to 1 per element. When you have 5 of water and you destroy one to use another. It was terrible.

If they kept totem as a similar version of aura. But reworked the shaman better I would agree. but they didnt so.

I agree. They could have kept them “aura-like” and just removed the wierd type restriction.

I think that would have been fun.

Any updoots?

Sturmbringer has been updooted.

What other class uses lightning anything? You want fire only, go play mage. Why do you want only fire and not at least a combination of lightning and fire? What cutscene, NPC/major character that’s shaman, or any other source, did you see that expressively only had fire/fire build and think “That makes me want to play shaman”? Everything in game as far as I recall is more lightning focused w/ a splash of earth and hardly shows fire or even wind, so how did you come to playing this class and not want anything to do w/ Lightning?
