Seriously, how has this not been looked at yet, how long are you going to make us use several GCDs in all aspects of content to maintain this buff?, worse it benefits other classes more then ourselves aswell.
Please Blizzard, do the right thing, just let us place Windfury Totem and have it provide a 60 minute buff to the group we are in, 5 players maximum and last 60 minutes, lost on Death.
Why do you continue to create this hassle for us? I’d argue we already have way more buttons to press compared to other classes already, yet none are constantly every trash pack or multiple times in encounters replacing their buffs.
Please…we need this change.

It needs it. Mostly because Windfury is so bad as it is that its rarely worth taking anyways.

And for the love of thunder, make it baseline. Nobody else has to respec every time their group comp changes based on whether the new arrangement has enough specific melee specs to make their group buff worthwhile.

They should make it an aura and it just pops the totem down near you with no interaction necessary. And moves it with you.

Honestly make it effect more people, but buff you more and it’d be ok.
I just want them to bring back the old tornado effect.

Why is it not just an aura? Class fantasy? Windwalking is given by monks who have zero wind element abilities? no fantasy there… Make it an aura and its over and done with.

It doesn’t have to be an aura, I don’t mind placing a totem once and the buff lasts 60 min like every other buff, keeps the theme of using totems.
If I die or someone in my group dies I don’t mind pressing it again, but pressing it every 20-30 seconds is ridiculous.
Also, it most definitely should be worth more to the caster then others, why it’s more beneficial for other classes over us seems to be a large oversight.
Agreed on the second part, first part its because the totem is producing the aura. If we produce the aura that fixes the problem. Technically you can take totemic projection to move the totem but a 60 min totem that gives you the buff from anywhere might be a little crazy, let alone if you drop it in an area with a pat and its there for that amount of time and the pat comes barreling through the dungeon after you. That might be a problem.
Unless they’re also cranking the range on the totem up to basically infinite, a 60 minute duration is pointless. We’d still have to redrop it every time the encounter moves across the boss arena or we advance to a new dungeon pack.
Just make it an aura.

You throw a totem down once, just keeping on theme, it can vanish after x amount of seconds, but the buff lasts 60 minutes.
Like every other class buff in the game. Lost on death but only effects the group we in, so total 5 players including ourselves.
Sorry if I didn’t explain it to well. So yes it becomes an aura buff to a degree but still keeps the visual of throwing down a totem but not tied to its range.
So at the start of a dungeon or raid, we do it at the start like every other buff and that’s it, if someone dies you re buff like normal, if no one dies you don’t have to press it again.

just leveled up a shaman this week and i KNEW there was something ‘missing’ from windfury. It is 100% the tornado effect my brain was looking for and could not find.
Why would blizz remove such a cool visual? It added a lot of badassery to shamanism

They removed it when they threw the entire spec out the window to replace it with an anemic Fury clone in Legion, and didn’t add it back when they un-screwed the spec in Shadowlands.
