Still No Beta

I’d hand you mine if I could. I got Beta first week and haven’t touched it since first week.

My husband has it, so luckily I’ve been able to play around a little bit - but man, I’d really like it myself too. It would be a lot of fun.

These days I’m just farming mounts/mogs/toys/crap (do a weekly 15 on my better/more fun alts). Not much else. This expansion has been dried up for a long time.

I did try the PTR last night and found that my level 50’s were able to down the mobs just as easy as before. I was happy with that. Also, I checked out some of the new looks on the character creation screen. The Ztrolls actually have appearances that aren’t horrendous. The first place my Ztroll will be going after patch day or new expansion day (whichever the new looks come with) is to the barber shop for a total makeover so maybe I won’t dislike her so much.

I think it’s ridiculous that accounts that were created during WoW’s 2004-2005 release days, and are currently subscribed, don’t get an automatic invite to the beta on day one of beta opening.

We are your core base and we can provide feedback too you know.

I’ve been putting the time in on the PTR instead. But I’m also still wrapping up stuff I left undone this expac, or from other expacs.

Would love to test my monk and priest on the beta, and provide some feedback. I have a lot of free time and interest, but I understand the invite process is random.

This might actually be the first beta since Cata that I haven’t participated in. I hope folks are giving my main raid specs some proper attention.

They honestly don’t care, and it does feel a bit like betrayal. I know, beta isn’t open for everyone, but at the same time there are so many people saying they got in and are not even going to use it…

Why make it random? Target those people who actively play/old accounts.

I get they want their free streamer advertisement. It has been rubbed in our faces just a little harder every alpha/beta these days.

Ah well, back to farming AQ.

I don’t mind not getting it to be honest. Rather not be burnt out before I even start.

Yep, I have CE and beta.
I got in about a week after getting CE.
I used to always get early beta though when I played on my Macbook Pro since they wanna internal test Apple products (minority playerbase).

I just do dailies for gold then hop on an alt for low level BGs now. They broke as hell but so fun… Not sure I even want to bother with the Beta at this point. Expansion is probably only a couple months away now anyways.

Not true. I have never done arena, m+ or raid in BFA other than lfr and got the friendship dragon carry and ive been in beta for a couple weeks just when the raid testing started

Nice. While I’m mostly excited for Beta because I’ll get to try Shadowands, I’m also excited to see if I find any familiar faces.

Just be friends with a streamer since blizzard is giving them keys to give away and somehow think those same people are not going to just give them out to their inner circles and buddies lmao.

You’re not missing out on much.

If you’re looking to occupy your time, it would be a good idea to familiarise yourself with how your class plays out on the PTR. There are changes that you’ll want to get used to. I’m a lot happier than I thought about baseline Xuen on my monk than I had first thought.

Another thing to try out is the levelling - for me thus far appears to work well in Legion and BfA but is meh in others. I still haven’t gotten mentally used to being slow in a starting area (e.g Jade Forest is typically fast because it’s normally an 80 zone but is slowed down because at the start you don’t have that many skills).

I don’t need it. I just do other things. The PTR is the only thing i really cared to get my hands on with some of the class changes. I don’t need the full beta experience.

Me, I’ve been opted in for years. That said, I don’t really care if I get beta anyway. If I get it I likely won’t play it, as I like to experience everything in the live game.

There are no keys. The streamers/content creators ask you for your battle tag which they then send to Blizzard to get flagged.

As someone who has been into WoD, Legion, BFA, Classic and now Shadowlands, I can say this that whatever you do in beta is going to be wiped once the game launches if your intent on playing it then I would rather wait because you are going to get disappointed when doing it all again because the progress doesn’t transfer over to live, if you are interested on testing the game has hence beta than thats fine.

I’m surprised this thread got so much attention lol. I’m not upset or anything about not getting in yet, but I do agree with some of the comments that people with accounts dating back to vanilla (like mine) that are still active, should get some sort of recognition in the way of beta invites.

Ah well. I’m still excited for release regardless.
