Playing frost DK DW, people said it would get better at 60 but am still hitting like a wet noodle. Even with a killing machine proc Oblit a warriors mortal strike is doing 3-4k + damage
Yea that’s just how Obliterate is right now. Hitting like a wet noodle that doesn’t feel good to press.
There’s going to be a Female Human DK telling you to get Crit to get a KM proc outside of Pillar of Frost window… Y’know, a strike that has 20% less strength?
It feels even less good as 2h.

It’s not even obliterate, frost DK damage in general is a joke. Am literally getting 3 shot buy warriors, rogues, ret pallys and huntards

Got a screenshot from a dungeon a few days ago when I hit pillar and quantum device, and clapped an obliterate for just under 8500. Not even Kyrian, so no pelegos mastery, and no external/dungeon buff or weirdness. That felt pretty good. Just saying.

Having gear to compensate for all the base damage loss from October changes doesn’t suit right for me though.
People are saying Unholy needs nerfs and I think it’s okay. But what do I know, I don’t run heroics/mythics enough for an input.
Prior to some of those nerfs, a Kyrian dk on beta could hit obliterates in the 10-15k range. It was absolutely preposterous.
FWIW, I’m sitting on 24% crit, just under 40% mastery (close to 70% with quantum buff) with a 184 weapon. Extra mastery makes those numbers fly up mighty fast.
So with a 184 weapon you hit 8500 with 24% crit, under 40% mastery (70% with Quantum).
You are saying a Kyrian DK prior to those nerfs hit for 10-14k with the same gear I am assuming? With Pillar, Pelagos and Quantum?
Depends on the build I guess. Not having a bad time with breath/Venth build. Not getting super huge crits, but the damage seems to add up ok.

Swapped to UH this week to weigh it against 2H frost, but all last week I was keeping up on meters both ST and AoE aside from some fringe circumstances. Was around 23% crit and 35% mastery as Venthyr. In CD windows I was in the range of ~6k crits (toeing toward 6.5k), with around 4.8k-5.2k depending on Fallen Crusader procs outside of PoF.
I am ilevel 181 and frost is ball sack . There’s basically 0 reason to play it over unholy in ANY circumstances at this point
Yeah I had some fun in RBGs as frost in week 1 but after a tried some arenas it is pretty bad. Switched to UH clawing shadows build and never looked back. I hate it because 2H frost was my fav PvP spec in WoD and I really want it to do more burst damage. Just comparing to Sub Rogues that 100-0 me in less then 2 seconds and the ridiculousness that is ret pally it just sucks. I really hope they make a buff soon.

That sounds pretty interesting, I might need to go Frost to try it out. Never occured to me to combine the insane RP of Swarming Mists with BoS but I also don’t play Frost that often.

Stats are very important, and we have BiS lists again. Just getting to 58 is not going to magically make you a damage dealing god. You need stats to enable you to get those KM procs. Around 30ilvls can almost double your dps at the moment with the proper stats.
