For the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing repeated disconnects during WoW only. My ISP is Spectrum and a month or so ago there were many folks who were running into the same problem. I’ve posted some WinMTR results here before and have been told nothing was out of the ordinary. I’m using an ethernet cable directly into the router.
The DCs happen like this: usually happens in the evening at some time between 6pm-10pm PST. It’ll go on for at least 30mins to an hour where every few minutes or so I DC and it takes 30-40 seconds to get kicked into the login screen. It’s ONLY WoW.
I know it’s spectrum because I actually still have AT&T as well and when I switch to that network I have 0 DC problems.
Unsure of what exactly to do or how to proceed or even explain this to Spectrum.
As a Spectrum customer, I can tell you that persistence is key. Just keep calling them, let them know you cannot reach WoW with consistency, and you’re unsatisfied with the service. If they blow you off, call again. I had to call off and on for over 3 months for them to find a fault at a neighborhood hub.
Will do. I can confirm it’s also bnet as well. I’ll immediately tab to bnet to whisper my friends when I DC and they won’t go through and it’ll come back online within a few seconds.
A real life buddy even texted me when I was AFK but had bnet open saying "I can see that you’re DCing, it’s repeatedly showing you go online and offline on bnet for the past hour.
