Steve Daunser has left Blizzard

This was the dude who made Sylvanas did nothing wrong in Shadowlands and the “oops the Jailer was a bad guy!”

While this is good for the story lets not forget he has been replaced by the guy who gave us Cata and WoD so I doubt things are going to get much better.

Was there a point where he wasn’t a bad guy?

Also there’s already a huge thread about this.

Didnt we do this thread already?
Or am i just a time traveller?

I have no idea what he’s like as a person, but sorry, his writing skills are catastrophic, and the fact that he got paid for it…
However, it doesn’t really help much now that he’s leaving. The damage has already been done. Unless one wants to completely retcon and pretend that everything after Legion was just a bad fan fiction or perhaps a vision from N’Zoth or something, then unfortunately, it can’t be saved anymore.

Zuma needs a daily dose of attention or he shrivels up and blows away.

So like any other toddler?

Yeah, WoDs story was fine, just the expansion was very empty outside of raids, and skipping an entire patch made the story suffer in the end. That, and the extremely twisted and ruined demon / twisting nether lore retconems trying to make Archimonde more impactful.

Besides that it was good. Just a shame the bad parts were so bad that the good parts were basically nothing in comparison

I have no idea if this is a good or bad thing.

So yay or oh no! Whichever is appropriate.

Something something helping us with Sylvanus because there is a big bad that is controlling him.

If my memory serves, this is like the third thread on this, but we need it clear.

During the layoffs, people were unsure about Danuser, noticed his linkedin profile was behind and nobody really heard much.

There was another thread titled something generic yesterday, made the point of saying he updated his profile to have left in November. Could have served as the final thread, but since it’s impossible to change the title of a thread… (“He’s Gone … DF Father”)

Then this one definitively states he left in November, while providing a stable discussion location for future opinion.

No, I think GD got it right; 3+ posts to say farewell is about the right level of overlap.

I mean, did you like bfa’s and Shadowlands story? He wrote most of it. However, one must of course firstly mention that the story was only mediocre even before, and secondly, that his successor might be even worse. Time will tell. The story can’t be saved anyway, so… I dunno

I will never get tired of saying this but. WoW story ended after we defeated argus back in 7.3 minus the infamous sword.

Some really questionable story telling onwards in my opinion, warlords was also another massive miss. Legion had it’s moments and not even gonna bother with bfa/sl mess.

I can never tell if people mispell Sylvanas like this because they’re trying to insult her, or if it’s just an honest mispelling

Well I don’t like SLs so I’ll go with “yay!”
