CANCEL whatever program is causing Maiev Shadowsong to stop and point at the Felflame Braziers. Limit the talking in this escort quest because the npcs can’t talk and walk at the same time. Also, make her walk a little faster. If you don’t follower her and wait while she points, the quest bugs out and you can’t complete it. FIX THIS NOW.
Agreed this is insane how often she is stopping to point. Even at braziers that are gone/removed. Its been 5min and we’ve only moved a few feet.
I found that it happens a lot when you leave the bubble. Which happened to me so many times. When I got to the ending of the shadows quest, Maiev was far behind me and it made it so I could not complete the quest. However, once I ran back up the tunnel, she came with me and it finally triggered the quest. I felt really stupid, but yeah. Still agree with all the rest.
This is inside her bubble, she is stopping every few paces to stop and point at braziers that are no longer there. She will turn around and point, turn to walk and IMMEDIATELY turn back to stop and point. Sometime she will move a few feet then turn to point, but she is repeatedly doing it for a bunch of players.
It doesnt seem to be consistent though. Some players are having no issues, some are stuck like me in a hell-cycle of Maieve chastising you or pointing, and many of my guildies cant even pick up the quest Stepping into the Shadows to start this.
Please note: I stood to type this and she has moved about 8 paces total.
I ran ahead of her for that part of the quest and then just went back to her. She was also being annoying with me too, she actually got stuck way behind me and disappeared… Not sure what resolved it but I guess I got lucky that it finally worked itself out. Then there was the next part… lol
Bro how tf do you do the last part?? “Discover what lurks in the depths of shadow hold” makes no sense nothing happens
This is the part that I was stuck on, when you go to the circle on your map down in the cave there is a mob that spawns. If Maiev is not with you when you go down the tunnel the event will not start for you. Run back up the tunnel and then make sure she is with you, once you get back down near the end it will trigger.
You would think that after 15+ years of people complaining about how awful escort quests are blizz would stop making them.
It’s very clear they didn’t test this quest at all or didn’t test it with multiple players in the same area. There’s zero reason she should be pointing at the same brazier multiple times, or at braziers at all after you’ve already gotten 6/6
If this is what escorts are going to be like then they need to let us /follow on NPCs.
