I read a closed topic (I suppose on EU forum…) about the use of this SteelSeries World of Warcraft MMO Mouse, that disappeared from WoW config interface were was possible enable/disable it using a checkbox.
To enable you can save this on a macro:
/console enableWoWMouse 1
Just run this macro with mouse connected and… you will not receive any signal of interface that is on… how to test? Try to map the mouse buttons to some shortcut key, if its always mapped just press one mouse button to test it!
How disable? With WoW running just disconnect the mouse and interface will show a warning that “cant locate the WoW mouse” and disable it… just click OK. If warning not appears, will appear when you start WoW with mouse disconnected.
If you use windows and want to use Steelseries official software to this mouse to change colors and configure mouse buttons for each char… you can download and install from here (remove spaces, dunno why can’t share links here):
https: // downloads. steelseriescdn. com/drivers/mice/wow_mouse.exe
After install… the software will not works properly!!! So you MUST do this steps bellow to software works perfectly!
- after install go to folder were software was installed (these examples bellow are the defaults installation folder, if you choose another go to your preferred install folder):
– 32bits: C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse\Driver7x32
– 64bits: C:\Program Files (x86)\SteelSeries\World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse\Driver7x64
… at folder, run (as Administrator) the app “DPInst.exe” to actually install the correct drivers on your system.
-
now go to folder:
– 32bits: C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse
– 64bits: C:\Program Files (x86)\SteelSeries\World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse
… and change these files (bellow) properties, right click on each file and change on “compatibility” tab you must set the “Run this program as an administrator” the files are:
— WoWMGui.exe
— WoWMHid.exe
— WoWMTray.exe -
now all works properly! and you will have app “WoWMTray.exe” running on tray (after restart)… here you can open software interface, enjoy!
I hope it helps!
