Steed should have a talent option to counter knockbacks

Since Blizz has reneged on giving Paladins a real mobility talent, again, we still need something to counter knockbacks. I don’t think BoF would be a good target for this because it already has a niche and I also don’t want it to get nerfed again.

Every other melee has a tool to deal with knockbacks and if Paladins are not getting WoL, they still need something in their kit to deal with such mechanics.

The best solution given the current design would be to make Seasoned Warhorse a choice node that alternatively allows the Paladin to double jump once, when DS is active, to either blink forward a short distance or hop forward (like Shaman’s Gust of Wind).

A hop forward makes sense for a Warhorse and a short blink is still on brand for a class that weaponizes the light, so thematically we’re covered.

This would counter push/pull mechanics and be a choice against having a longer steed that covers more ground.

Bonus points to Blizz if they add a Speed of Light glyph to replace steed. With the glyph, the pally would use the blink and without the glyph, the horse would use the hop animation.

We won’t have talents to spare with the new tree without sacrificing something major.

maybe just add it to steed, why not

Would be nice for them to bake the 2 extra seconds of steed and 2 charges of it into just base steed since it’s really not all that impressive.

Paladins were never getting WoL.
Paladins were never promised WoL.
It’s ok to be unhappy about it, but silly to be dishonest about it.

They could always revise talents a bit for it.
Also this wouldn’t be a talent that we’d need at all times, so depending on the fight there are a couple of candidates that could give up the point.

That’s would make the base ability more interesting.

It wouldn’t complain but devs might think it’s too much for an early talent, which is why I proposed the choice node. What’s more important to me is having the option to talent into this kind of utility.
