Steam Deck however, is the best console gaming has to offer.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, my family got the steam deck and i gave it a try because i was curious and… it works, it’s pretty good. Barely like PC gaming, but as a gaming console to take with, i can see myself using this.
Why i call this a console? Because it is.
But here’s the reason why i call it the best console.
- Graphic options that aren’t 3 presets and performance overlay.
- Given you’re on linux, you’re not limited to steam and can use practically anything you thow on here. (at least that’s what i’m told about linux.)
- It also gives away to modding games without worrying about console compatibility like on Xbox or … Actually it’s just Xbox.
- You can use a keyboard/mouse on any game, considering the controls emulate keyboard for some games anyways.
- Also, they have a monster of the WIFI chip in there that went up to 100Megabits for me.
There’s still a lot of things i wish they do, like upgradable hardware (not just SSD’s, ram, cooling, gpu, etc) and maybe fix the gyro controls not turning off, and also wish it doesn’t become a bomb when you play something like Spyro on there, even at low settings to play it at a playble framerate of 60fps, but dang, i’m pleasantly surprised. Not impressed, just surprised it’s good as it is.
And i would definitely recommend this with little hesitation to those looking to console game.
