In world like warcraft I so drawn to steampunk aesthetic
But Legion and BC remind me their Sci-fi aspect of warcraft, Lest I love coin term “Orc in space”
but what setting you enjoy Steampunk, with old sword and magic
or Sci-fi wonder with spaceship and outer world of Nether?
to me I just love both.

I have a steampunk mog on my Gnome Mage and love to RP my Engineering and tinkering combining metal and magic.

To my mind, “steampunk” as a term requires the particular Victorian-esque setting. When you start adding in more fantasy or hard sci-fi elements it diverts from that somewhat.
Not particularly partial to steampunk or straight up sci-fi tbh.
Steampunk is a very specific niche that kinda gets old fast IMO and Sci-Fi is fun but not where I want to spend my time in a largely pretty typical Fantasy game.
I like standard fantasy. Warcraft is basically that, a lot of the time.
It dives into sci fi sometimes and I frankly don’t care for it when it does, but I know it’s been part of the setting since day 1.
(and the steam stuff is kept mostly to gnome tech which isn’t front and center hardly ever)
I don’t think steampunk is the right world for WoW’s tech side, but I really do hope we get a tech based class eventually.

I cant remember where but there is a vampire victorian area in Wow somewhere.
The head earthen female in the campaign. She had a pack with robotic arms. We need a playable class like that
You’d like an old CRPG called Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. The world is in the middle of an industrial revolution, but you’ve got several fantasy races and a combination of firearms, swords, and magic to approach the world with. It’s got a huge amount of depth in character creation so you can make whatever you want.
