Stay Classy and pre-patch

I posted this in Customer Support and was told that I’d have to post it here for someone who can do something about it to see it…

Hello,

I recently dinged 70 on the last toon I needed for the Stay Classy achievement but did not get the achievement nor the reward (8th guild bank tab). Looking into this, I’ve realized that I did not receive credit for any of the toons I leveled to 70 after the latest patch. I created a ticket and was told by a GM that this is working as intended as the pre-patch considers the max level to be 80 and not 70 now, and to get the achievement, I will have to level those toons to 80 (plus the ones prior to the patch in that same race) once the expansion is launched.

Well, I won’t be doing that. I’m a small, one person guild that’s existed since BC. I have worked a long time leveling character by myself to get this achievement and in the last few months, spent a lot of money ($500 buying level 70 boosts on top of monthly fees for 5 WoW accounts). If Blizzard cannot grant me the achievement I worked and paid for, I will be ending my 15+ years affair with World of Warcraft (look at my account, I’ve never made a “rage quit” post). I realize y’all say this is working as intended, but from the players perspective, the level cap is still 70; if that’s as high as we can go RIGHT NOW, then that’s the max level for us.

Please make this right Blizzard. I may not raid anymore, or do any of the social things WoW has to offer, but there are still aspects to this game I like. I don’t want to give it up, but I also won’t continue to patronize something that cheats me out of money.

Just in case you actually think something will be done about this, I’ll save you the time and let you know you can cancel. The people who can do something about it are not going to see your post. And even if they did see it, they would not implement a code change for one guy trying to get an achievement for which you have already been advised is working as intended.

As much as I question your decision to spend $500 on boosts, yeah, thats unacceptable. We are NOT in prepatch yet, the achievement should still be 70.

Its not one of the achievements that requires the characters have like honored guild rep for it to count is it?

If not, open a separate ticket. CS Reps are not infallable and were not even when Blizzard CS was actually good, so it might be worth getting someone else to confirm.

Are we sure this isn’t the reason why the achievement isn’t counting? Because I could’ve sworn boosts didn’t count.

What that GM said makes no sense. We’re still in season 4. Not 11.0.

I appreciate it, but I have to at least try. BTW, it’s not just ‘one guy’. The forums are full of guild achievement issues after the latest patch.

I dont think that achievement cares about how you get to cap, just the heritage armor stuff for allied races. Have they ever said anything about Stay Classy and boosts?

Yes, it requires you to be honored with the guild, which all the toons are at least honored.

I’m not finding a support article on it. And I’m finding mixed responses. Some said they worked in Warlords. Others said they tried it in SL and it didn’t work.

Boosts were counting prior to the latest patch. This one was boosted before the patch and I got credit for it:

Hmm. Okay. To me it sounds bugged. And I’d make a bug report on it.

There’s no way prepatch is stopping this. It just doesn’t make sense.

Sounds like there are some internal systems that are not working as if it is pre-patch but that is not your fault. I would try another CS person because their experience and helpfulness can vary. As this is my experience with most CS people.

There’s a topic on the Bug Report forums:

We’ve yet to see a Blue response.

That explains lots of issues happening right now, like being unable to do the weekly quests on characters 60-69. I doubt they will change this but this achievement is not the only issue.

That’s just crazy. You can’t screw people out of stuff like that when we’re still in season 4 with months left.

But… you won’t get a blue response in Bug Reports. It’s there to file problems, not for responses.

I’d like to see someone acknowledge it here, though. Because it’s crap and with no warning.

wow really? that don’t make sense since max level is 70. It seems it may be the boost but it should be clearer.

RE-open the ticke.t

We’re not in TWW pre-patch.

TWW pre-patch is 11.x. We’re still in Dragonflight 10.x patches.

I opened a ticket for this yesterday. Got an automated canned response to check support articles. I refuse to accept this arbitrary decision that goes against over a decade of precedent by calling 10.2.7 the War Within pre-patch. That’s not how it has EVER worked.

I specifically paid for the year subscription because I intended to use these months to level alts and get those guild achievements for my personal guild. With one nonsensical decision, they’ve pretty much killed my plans for playing in that time. I rushed the remix stuff because I wanted to have it done and over with so I could focus on this goal until the ACTUAL pre-patch (11.x) where I would accept that 70 is no longer the maximum level.

we’re not in prepatch, resubmit ticket.

Yet another response that doesn’t match the other responses I’ve had…at least this one makes me think there’s a chance:

Greeting’s John,
Specialist Game Master Neoici here to help!

Thanks for reaching back out. So, I’ve had a further look into this and our Developers are currently investigating this issue, while at the moment we as Customer Support do not have a workaround nor can we grant these achievements to you, all we can advise to do currently is to wait, and hopefully The WoW Team will have this fixed soon.

If your guild really called Family Affair???
