Status of pre-mades in "random" bg's?

Just checking in here blizz, to see what the status is of you breaking up pre-made’s in your so called, “Random” battlegrounds.
Like, can’t your software detect, you know, more than two people from the same server, or friends lists? Seems like a plausible thing to me. I’m no software engineer or anything, but I feel like this would be able to happen.

Crazy, it’s almost like playing with a group of friends is something they…intended?

Random refers to the map.

Get friends of your own.

Soloing rbg is a convenience at the cost of randomness…which can be good or bad. If you joining as loner, you’re going casual, anyway. It shouldn’t bother you as much.

The majority of premades aren’t even coordinated. It’s literally just a group of friends playing together doing their own thing. If thats your excuse for losing then theres something else going on.

The system accepts parties and is fully aware that they are premades.

With ‘quick join’ Blizz has incentivized ppl to play together in every sort of content… I think you are barking up the wrong tree here

Premades are one of the classic wow tropes of “awesome if you have one, terrible if you face one”. Like many things, the idea of queuing with friends is a good one! This is a massively multiplayer game - we should be able to stick together.

The issue (like so many in wow) is that good intentions are always spoiled by bad people. “Having fun with friends” quickly becomes “prebuilt stomp group of mythic raiding glads with purposeful placements” who are really just there to wipe and troll casuals and soloists as brutally as possible. It’s perfectly within the parameters of party queuing, it’s just horribly unbalanced and awful to queue into.

And while there is apparently a system that tries to put premades together, I certainly don’t see it as when I group we almost exclusively face cripples and mouth breathers and when I queue solo I am greeted by my fellow mutants and face the 92 bulls nearly every time.

Now one thing to keep in mind (well, several):

  • it’s prepatch which is never balanced anyway. Getting a 4 MM hunter one pocket heal is going to be the absolute worst it will ever be right now

  • scaling is gone. This means the mythic raiders have way more incentive to queue, are well coordinated and hit like your mom when you tried to sneak a coke. It also means some of the guard rails for LFR people are gone - so you also hit for less than before

  • racials matter now. Many people are moving to human for the sweet stun removal and extra PVE trinket slot. As horde you can also queue as alliance short term

  • disparate win rates make lopsided queues. That ability for horde to select alliance short-term and queue as one? Another good intention blizzard idea. Horde queues were increasing and ally participation was dropping (generally but some servers it’s reversed), so blizz let people swap teams (merc) short term (hours not days). The problem is that people figure out the above points, run into way more ally premades than horde and merc for the wins and easy farming (riding premade coattails). These are also for French well geared and skilled solo queue people.

That leaves a shrinking pool of increasingly less geared and less coordinated people facing an increasingly powerful opponent. And it’s already happening.

This got long but that’s the state. A couple of well intentioned systems and current state of the game all making you row uphill, increasingly steeper with accelerating waters against you.

Bigcheeka, thank you. A valid summary and statement. I appreciate your insight.

I’d rather the cut off for premade groups in PUGs to be 3-5 people. For all the other areas where Blizzard encourages anti-social behavior and loner game play it’s odd that they still allow premade groups to stomp pugs.

Strange how frequently the “mythic geared BiS rank 1 blah blah” argument comes up compared to how so very rare it is to actually encounter these situations.

It’s this forum’s version of the Red Scare.

YMMV I guess? Because it’s definitely a thing, it’s definitely happening and it’s consistently prevalent since pre-patch began; especially on the Alliance side. I mean, I made multiple points on why it’s happening; do you disagree? Or is this simply a ‘fake news everything is fine, trust me’ reply?

You don’t run into this? You’re not looking. I suggest using addons to view the names and hp of your opponents and your own teammates and their ilvls before the game starts. It would be eye-opening for you.

No, I do not often run into “mythic geared BiS full gush premade sweating over strats in discord reee” scenarios.

The part of a rank 1 or glad premade for random bgs isn’t prevalent as was said

Random bgs are mostly all lopsided train wrecks right now. People should be allowed to queue with premades, just like solo players shouldn’t be continually relegated to dumpster fire teams.

FIX THE QUEUE SORTING!

Then you don’t BG on horde side much (or at all). Just for fun I queued up at 845am EST and still ran into a Mythic Premade (in progress no less, even more fun!):

htt ps://imgur.com/a/Ni4CSSD

Now sadly they were only 3/12 Mythic and low 20s M+ from the same guild so clearly not geared or coordinated at all, especially for what is still early in the flippin morning.

But yeah! This never happens, not in prime time, and definitely not all the time.

Can you stop with this bizarre fake news tirade already.

“friends” lol every premaders excuse. since you want to play with “friends” how about a premade que (against other “friend” teams) and a solo only que. I realize that premades would find a way to circumvent the restriction because we all know its not playing with “friends” that they want

It’s not an excuse it’s literally why people do it, including myself. Solo queuing pvp is dreadfully boring. You should try it some time.
