Hello all, I’ll try to be brief. I have been considering picking up my ww monk again and was curious as to their current state. Strictly speaking from a PvE perspective. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
They’re not in a great spot. Not really desired for M+. They are great in raids IMO though and a lot of fun because of touch of karma. Horrible in PvP, don’t even bother in PVP play mistweaver in PVP instead.
To be brief they are not bad but not the best. We could reiterate many of what we discussed but I am just going to point you to some fantastic discussions.
Honestly when it comes to WW don’t expect to do any crazy high end play, but they’re still a pretty fun class to play. As long as you arnt trying to be on the bleeding edge of content, I’d say go for it and you’ll probably have a good time with him.
They are getting some good QoL changes in 8.1, which is nice. They’re making it so ToK puts a bubble on yourself instead of making it a debuff on the target which can be dropped if they use immunities or die. They are also removing some of the damage from ToK/ToD and applying it on our standard rotation abilities which is good. Have yet to see if it’s a DPS gain or not though, from the looks of it, it’ll be a ST damage nerf and a AoE damage buff.
WWs are also getting some nice PvP traits which will definitely help them in PvP.
