State of Westfall

I always felt bad for the poor in Westfall. Both the adventurers and Stormwind are only focused on fighting the Defias, not helping the poor. We kill Vanessa VanCleef, or at least we think we do, and then what? People are still starving. Will Turalyon do anything?

In a word, no. I never understood Westfall. It was overrun with Defias, although to be fair, Redridge was overrun with orcs and gnolls and Darkshire with worgan and undead which just shows the lack of concern by the crown and/or the nobles to all the adjacent provinces. Then a huge fort project is started and left incomplete. Was a fort needed? It’s worthless as it stands and its been unfinished for years. It was like a ‘see, we’re helping you now’ and then the excuses began while ‘they’ lavishly rebuilt the park and the palace. If Turalyon listens to the nobles, he won’t do anything as there are ‘more pressing concerns’. All he is likely to do is order a roundup of the usual suspects.

As far as current lore is concerned, Westfall is recovering. It still has transients moving in and out of the region, mostly displaced by the Fourth War, but the Westfall Brigade and Stormwind have come together to ensure that Sentinel Hill is rebuilt and fortified.

These days the worst threat the region faces are disorganized packs of Gnolls who have been leaderless since the death of Hogger. The Defias Brotherhood is no longer active in the region, having pulled out entirely during the Legion invasions, meaning the Deadmines is completely silent and abandoned.

Last time we see it is in the start to Shadow’s Rising. It seems the environment catastrophe is still at least somewhat ongoing. And a drunk farmer blows up a shed then yells at Anduin.

So it seems like stuff is still pretty crappy there. This is why the Defias had to turn into COBRA as otherwise they were making too much sense.

The scene you are describing happens in Shadows Rising, not Edge of Night.

Thank you for the correction.

Shadow’s Mirror: Based on the Novel ‘Dark’s Edge Rising’ by Sylvanas.

Defias were right and all of Azeroth should know the wrath of Defias Pillager fireballs

Maybe they’ll tell you to stop necroing threads.

That’s only a few finger swipes down on my iPad bro
If I really want to necro I’d find the never forget threads about troll land from 5+ years ago

You’ve been necroing a bunch of threads to say nothing of value. One of them was even a sexist comment.
