Which is exactly why they arent doing that exact thing
Cutting into VDHs extreme control is probably the biggest change that needed made at the start of season 4.
Even on the season 3 PTR players were saying it’s broken but Blizz doesn’t care.
That mass amount of control is a big part of what makes the comps works.
Saying ‘for example’ with a completely made up example is pretty impressive.
I do not use IF efficiently or sometimes at all in Timewalkings, I find I generally do not need the mitigation. Unless you’re talking about keys
So being bad is a lot easier to fix than a skill issue then?
You don’t need that long of a post to sum up the state of tanks. RaiderIO keys above 10, VDH at 52% representation. The next closest tank is at 15%. VDH with double sigils makes the rest of the tanks obsolete.
In general. I dont use IF outside of content that doesnt need it
But my scenario was under thr impression that IF is required.
Loaded question. Its all dependent on the person and their ability and willingness to get better.
Ignorance is relatively harder to correct than proper timing of abilities IMO
Edit: to elaborate - its easier to teach someone who knows whar IF is and why its important when to properly use to get the most out of it compared to having to explain what IF is, how it works, why its important, and then how and when to use it properly
Is it? If youre not hitting a defensive, maybe you don’t know ot exists. Just let them know.
Do you mean laziness?
I just did an edit in the post. Read that and see if it makes more sense
The line between ignorance and laziness for the wow community is barely tangible, if at all.
I remember a few months back in the evoker forums some dude that was complaining about dying and the range not working wasn’t even specd into renewing blaze for mythic raids where he was complaining about said deaths, lol.
He spent the next couple of days defending not taking it.
This is just the wow community. Anything that people struggle with is Blizzard’s fault or a design flaw, and they don’t see any possible world where their refusal to learn and improve is the problem.
My point is “skill issue” is a polite way of calling someone bad. These people are pretending its something else.
A small part od the reason i dont M+ is that i have no interest in finding an optimized rotation for my DPS, or healing for that matter.
A larger portion is the gogogo but i really despise spreadsheet gameplay.
I can do better. I just refuse. So rather than drag others down i refrain.
But your point is not accurate.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure some people use it in that way, but “skill issue” as a phrase is literally just describing a situation where the player is the limiting factor and not the class design or balance.
Right, but the vast majority of players don’t have the self-awareness for this.
They see something they don’t want to (or can’t) do and without putting extra work in to get better, scream that it’s a design flaw or balance issue when plenty of other players are capable of achieving the ends they want to.
Yes, it is a skill issue. But I think the point being made is that the skill to successfully play paladin is disproportionate to other tanks. Whether that’s true or not is subjective.

a phrase is literally just describing a situation where the player is the limiting factor and not the class design or balance.
Isnt the player the limiting factor when theyre bad?

They see something they don’t want to (or can’t) do and without putting extra work in to get better, scream that it’s a design flaw or balance issue when plenty of other players are capable of achieving the ends they want to.
I sometimes feel this way about things. E.g. I would like more information when i do Mage Tower Trials.

Isnt the player the limiting factor when theyre bad?
If I’m parsing a 90 in mythic raid and not a 99/100, am I bad? No.
Is part of the reason that I’m not parsing a 99 a skill issue/gap? 100% it is.
They certainly can be mutually inclusive, but they don’t have to be, nor is the basic phrase a direct accusation of being bad (from everyone, that is).
Sounds like you’re just a bad paladin and that completely voids whatever else you had to say.
Saying that when Paladin is compared to the other classes I find the rotation bad. Just badly designed. That is in COMPARISON to the other tanks. It works, sure, but I don’t like how SOTR is soooo short. I feel very constrained as 75% of the time I am building HP to spend on a very short shield. and I have to fit in a utility spell in there somewhere. It is more for someone who just drank 3 Monsters and needs to participate in high risk behavior But sure, Im just bad.

I don’t like how SOTR is soooo short.
It stacks to 13 seconds.
so you have to build and spend 2 times to get to 13? sooo whats that /2?

so you have to build and spend 2 times to get to 13?
Are you suggesting it’s difficult to build HP? With 3x Blessed Hammer and 2x Judgement stacks with Sentinel running you are going to be HP capped more than anything. Especially with appropriate levels of haste.
There’s only 2 Holy Power spenders, SOTR or WOG and for the most part you are spending it on SOTR and using WOG for the free procs, HP overflow, and emergency heals.
