It died an early death. I think you can tell that by the amount of replies you got. Roll Barman Shanker Horde. I do not have a level 60 ally human rogue there. I got a shammy there is all. Orc. Leveling it.

jom is the only half alive server…dont think it will last though
Alliance side of Shadowstrike seems fairly healthy.

Well they announced BWL and phase 3… Increased exp to 100%… More loot. Nice alchemy changes.
It got 11 replies (Mostly all complaints about server population). It’s up to 16 this morning…
So yeah, pretty dead. I would not waste your time.
People will of course deny this with copium… Just ignore those people and save yourself the hours of time.

What would you want to achieve? Please elaborate.
I’m Horde on Shadowstrike, and at peak times (the only time I can play) there are plenty of people around to do all I want to do.
I’m currently lvl 50 and in a nice guild; I usually have no trouble finding PUGs for dungeons (though it may take some time), I’m in no rush to raid and I don’t do PvP. The AH activity is… weird, but decent (the neutral AH is truly dead).
There are several active guilds raiding and doing PvP (for the sake of PvP, not just for gear. Surprising for a PVE server).
So, “dead” is somewhat relative. It may not be alive enough for some, but it’s more than enough for me.

Honestly we all knew bwl was coming all we wanted was a when to start prepping. I’m not surprised it wasn’t a super active thread.
Barman horde is as dead as classic era right now. Roll Jom or shadowstrike.

Era is actively grouping for dungeons, lvling alts, ranking, queuing BGs, booning buffs and raiding MC–>Naxx. From the outside looking in it may be difficult to observe, especially without knowing the times these activities are scheduled. The communities are certainly smaller but we got things going on. Looking forward to seeing you all join us in 10 months!

probably be sooner. SOM raiding was something new to try, but mannnnnnn I’m prefering the WB mindless zug with the boys/girls. These are good changes but they are a bit late (loot and exp change) and there’s still issues: dead servers, too short of a season time-frame (at least another 6 months would have been ideal), and hard to farm gold for consumes.
I mean if your having fun kudos to you, but for me it’s been ehh.

So it’s in a feedback thread on the PTR forum. This is completely dumb. They need to make a much bigger deal/announcement about this (and the other changes, mainly the loot drop increase). It could save the season (although transfers would also go a long way…)
transfers would have went a long way about 1-2 months ago. People went back to TBCC for BT. I think it’s a bit to late my friend. But good luck to all the people that are sticking around in SoM.
I feel like it would be better use of peoples time to just level a character on classic era and get to know the community that is still there. If you think SoM is going to breathe new life into Classic era… Maybe you don’t care about LK classic… but that will probably drop when this season is over and that is where everyone playing classic is going to be.
But if you guys are having fun that is all that matters. I play MMORPGs to play with other people. Blizzard is really bad at server management and they need to figure that out. It is their fault this failed.

To answer OP:
SoM is good for pre bis and leveling experience. There’s enough raiding guilds so that you won’t have a problem finding one
That said. The only server worth rolling on is JoM or Shadowstrike, and the servers are insanely alliance heavy.
The biggest problem I see with SoM is that there will soon be no more horde on all servers, or at least a very small amount
PvP queues are annoyingly long.
I would consider re rolling horde with the new 100% quest xp, but then I’d have to buy another account and I’m not doing that for SoM
It’s worth playing if you enjoy the leveling and pre bis experience.
The other servers besides the one I mentioned are completely dead.
