I am making this forum post as a suggestion by about 5 GM’s who cannot help me in anyway on this topic. So many cata servers have died. I think the server and faction change prices are outrageously expensive. I do not think it is fair at all that that I have to pay 50-100 dollars to get my character off of a dead server. On top of that the people who played sod are being given a free 85 boost allowing them to start on any server for free, all the while the people who stuck to cata have to dish out a ridiculous amount of money for the service.
I for one have already paid Blizz thousands of dollars so why should I keep dishing out when the servers dying should be addressed in anyway besides a 10% discount to and overpriced service?
Where does one get a free level 85 boost?

Its $17.50 to move one character to a new server.
Or $35 for 3.

Locked servers have free transfers off. And if it’s not locked, it’s not dead.
While I definitely feel what you’re saying, it is a game, you can always “make a game of it” and reroll elsewhere.
No, it’s not. Peoples’ definition of ‘a dead server’ is ridiculous these days. According to their (and Blizzard’s) definition Full Vanilla realms would have been considered dead.

I want to faction and realm change 3 chars sadly.
“Reee there’s not 500 people afking outside the bank/ah spamming trade chat, server is dead”.
Meanwhile I get 3 minute dps queues for infernos and instant queues on healer/tank.
I was leveling my warlock on Faerlina in stonetalon earlier and kept running across people at like 6am pst on a thursday lol.
Are the medium servers over populated like they were months ago? Nah, but they’re far from dead. And like the others said, the locked servers with basically no one on them get a free transfer…
I will say though, that if you don’t check population balance it could definitely feel dead while being on a populated server. The alliance/horde balance is totally boned on a couple of them.
Good thing there is 50% XP bonus.
