Stat weights please help

Hi guys, just having a bit of an issue regarding stat weights. I’m running the SimCraft add on as well as Pawn and am simulating via RaidBots. I’m a bit confused as to what I need to have in my bags when running the “/simc” command in game, i’m assuming in my bags I should have the gear that may be a possible upgrade for me? Is it recommended to use static stat weights such as those found on IcyVeins as opposed to simulating my own character because whilst simming i’ve noticed that the stat weights are not line with the recommended Destro Warlock stat weights?

And also i’ve noticed that the stat priority after simulating on RaidBots shows Mastery 4.15 Crit 3.93 Vers 3.57 Haste 3.13 Intellect 1.73. Why is this so, considering that stat priority for Destro Warlock should be Haste — Crit —Mastery—Versatility?

Also once I find out my proper stat weights can I just leave the stat weights in Pawn and keep using those over time, or should I re-sim every time I change a piece of gear?

Thanks.

Stat priorities change based on what you currently have. Once you hit certain stat percentages, the priorities shift some. If you are doing this for this 103 warlock, I wouldn’t bother. As you level, your secondary stats are going to be changing so much it’s just going to be bothersome. Really it only matters for max level.

Ok cheers. So i guess the best thing for me right now is to use a static weight set in Pawn (preset or custom static weight set) ?

Stat priorities only matter at 120. Even a mod like Pawn is pointless when leveling; choose whatever increases your ilvl the most, unless it’s a trinket with a really stupid effect.

As stated by others, simming below 120 is pointless. Just take the highest iLevel in almost all cases. You won’t have that gear long enough to worry about it. I would go further in saying that simming before 340 (soon to be 370) is not really worth the effort, unless you just want to get the practice.

But before all that, you should go to Lock One Stop Shop (website) and read up on what you need there. Best 'lock site out there for all the specs.

thanks guys

Stat weights are entirely dependent on the gear you’ve got equipped. For instance, if you followed the stat priority you provided very strictly, you’d probably end up with very high haste, and consequently the weighting of haste would likely drop down the list as the other stats will now have greater value, relatively speaking.

That said, below 120 (and even at 120, assuming low ilvl gear), stat weights are effectively meaningless. Just prioritise intellect/item level and ignore secondaries for the time being.
