Stat Weights for NF Boomkin

Hi guys…I’m gearing this boomy as an alt/possible new main since warlocks are doo-doo right now. Anyway, I’m NF as many of us are, and I wanted to know if anyone can point me to the correct stat weights and/or a Pawn string to import so I can make educated gearing choices.

Right now I know that due to BOAT, we don’t really need to worry about Crit. This leaves me wondering if I should go:

  1. Mastery > Haste > Vers
  2. Mastery > Vers > Haste
  3. Haste > Mastery > Vers

My stats reflect the second option, currently, but I can’t figure out if it’s the correct one, and I cannot figure out how to change the stat weights in Pawn.

Thanks for reading. I’ve had decent results, but I haven’t had a chance to go into raid with this guy yet so I can’t comment too much. What I can say is that our raid druid is focused on Vers and is topping our charts consistently. He’s at 27% Vers, 18% Mastery, 14% Crit, and a whopping 5% Haste. Makes me think Vers is the most important of all.

Stat weights constantly change depending on how many of each secondary you have.

The only answer is to sim yourself. Do a stat weight sim on raidbots and then import your own string to pawn. Update it as you get new gear. When the choices get close, use top-gear to sim, or your pawn string will constantly be telling you something else is better.

I’m at very high mastery, around 34% or so, with very low haste and crit and a bit of vers. All my sims continue to tell me to get more mastery and vers. Did 10-20k dps on pretty much all dung bosses last week if the tank lined prideful up, in keys around +14-16. 6-7k overall dps for the dungeons is about norm. Mastery is amazing for us.

Nightfae devalues haste, since it doesn’t scale with convoke. Eclipse devalues haste and crit. BOAT devalues crit. So it makes sense that mastery and vers end up being strong.

I’d bet if we simed the druid you’re talking about, mastery would be a lot more valuable than vers unless they have a really weird setup. They’ll just be a decent player, like anyone who tops their raid. People will cry about balancing issues, but the fact remains that most of the best players are drawn to strong classes, and that makes things look less balanced than they are.

One of the reasons balance is predicted to not scale well later in the xpac is these scaling issues. 2 entire secondary stats are massively devalued, and we’ll hit the new diminishing returns issue (after 30% or whatever it is) if we just focus on the other two next patch.

That’s a good idea. I’ve been simming but never did a stat weigh in there so I’ll give that a shot, thanks! I’m going down the mastery/vers route anyway so I doubt it’ll make much difference but it’s nice to get some clarity on the subject, as you’ve provided.
