Is there any way of determining my stat weights for gear on my feral druid?
I am using pawn in TBC but a lot of the gear that I get and compare…Some gear with STR seems to only show an improvement % for DPS, and items with intellect show a higher % with tank…and i know VERY well that is wrong. Can anyone help me out with a way to figure this out? or how to edit pawn with the correct values?
This is all because the tier gear for druids is abysmally TERRIBLE, forcing them to only heal or boomkin…ugh.
Stat weights for dps casters are normally fairly accurate.
Stat weights for healers run afoul of questions about the conversion between mana and throughput stats, so you’ll see a lot of bad ones (include defaults in seventyupgrades) that aren’t based on anything but the ‘feelscraft’ of random dudes on the Internet.
For tanks, it’s more a matter of hitting certain benchmarks for expertise and defense before then just dumping your focus into the other stats. Tanks also tend to run two sets of gear that allow them to flexibility switch around gear for various tasks.
For melee dps, it’s almost impossible to get accurate stat weights beyond basic handwaving due to the how the interaction of various effects make their dps equation effectively impossible to solve closed form. You need to sim their rotations, so there’s no predictable way to set up a constant value of comparison between most stats.
This is a TBCC forum, which has Feral tier gear that’s specifically designed to be worn and used by Feral specs, and is our BiS in 95% of cases.
There is no such thing as “Feral tier” in Vanilla (ie Classic) because the tier gear was all Restoration focused. Your only options for set gear that helped you were the dungeon blue sets (Cadaverous and Shadowcraft), ZG crafted gear, Devilsaur, Tier 0.5, AQ20/40, and PvP gear.
