Stat Priority question : Stat Percentage Goals?

Hey guys so long story short I am slowly gearing up my druid and struggling to find a reliable “ideal” stat total list for all characters. For example as Feral I know my stats are

Agi
Crit
Mastery
Haste
Vera

What I’m interested in is why if those first 3 stats are my best why are people (high M+ or raiders) using gear that has quite a bit of those bottom two stats.

Where should I find a list of “goal” percentages to reach before I incorporate those bottom two stats at all.

Thanks for reading and for anyone that lists their own current percentage goals for what ever class they are gearing up.

I simmed your character for you on Raidbots.

For a single target 5 minute encounter, your stat weights are

Agility 3.17
Critical Strike 1.50
Haste 1.31
Versatility 1.28
Mastery 1.17
Weapon DPS 18.10

For a 4 target 1 minute encounter (so like a single trash pull in M+), your stat weights are
https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/report/aAwQNotLufc2NTyLU2HFT2
Agility 8.28
Haste 3.49
Versatility 3.32
Critical Strike 3.14
Mastery 2.96
Weapon DPS 47.28

As a general rule of thumb, the reason you’re seeing stats that players have less of on their gear show a higher value is because there is diminishing returns to having a lot of a stat. So if you have a bunch of Crit, Mastery, and Vers, the value of Haste will increase.

But it changes every time you get an upgrade. If you were to replace, say, your Helmet with an item that has a lot of Haste and Crit, your single target stat weights will change a bit and the value of Vers and Mastery will go up a little bit, while Haste and Crit will go down a little bit.

And since it’s variable, there is no “goal.” it changes every time you get a new item. your best bet is to just always sim your character. typically the higher iLvl piece wins every time.

I suppose I can sort of understand this, what confuses me is that their isn’t a set sort of target value you should be aiming for.

Thank you for the Sims

There kind of is, but the point is more than the closer you get to that percentage the more the value of other stats also increase since there is a finite stat allotment per item. They kind of did away with stat breakpoints for most specs, though there are some unique scenarios. And since there is no reliable way to only target upgrades with those stats on them (and because Blizzard drastically increased the value of main stats this expansion), you just default to the highest iLvl piece until you hit close to ~226 or so and then it just comes down to simming/what you already have a lot of.

You could spend a lot of time simming every possible max-iLvl piece to see which ends up with the highest DPS total and then just aim for those stat weights, but its so variable that it’s kind of a waste of time.

So it’s better to sim your stat weights, hope to get an item with your top 2 stat weights (or of a higher iLvl which you auto equip), sim your stat weights again after equipping that piece, and following that flowchart until you’re as high iLvl as you can be
