Havent really played BrM since SL season4.
A tiny bit in DF.
But now im getting back into it and I am really enjoying it. At first I was out off by the lack of self heals, but after playing it more and learning what to do, I really like it.
I do have a question though, for any good BrMs out there: with Fort Brew being such a long CD (reduced, slowly, by talents) when do you find is optimal times to use it?
As well, the big keg that negates physical damage taken. Does this work on tank busters? For instance SV first boss with her smash

I’m not an expert. However, I use my Cool Downs when I’m targeted by a lot of mobs or people, or when I’m in big trouble. Also, sometimes I use Fort Brew when I want to land a big Touch of Death.
Experts can anticipate big trouble.
Fort brews CD is not as long as it appears. You need to remember it is reduced by keg smash, tiger palm and anything else that reduces the CD on brews. If you are in persistent combat and playing well, 2-3 minute CD is achievable. I think it suffers an m+ punishment if you wipe just after using it though.

Tbh I use fort brew immediately if I feel pressured sometimes. I have two charges of celestial brew though, so I prefer to have at least one charge on CD before using it… If you take black ox brew I like to see if I can build up my chi stacks while fort brew is active, plus you can have it do an absorb… Or just push buttons

Deceptive. I often hit 700,000 healing-per-second on large pulls and usually finish most dungeons around 350k average HPS. It’s lower than most other tanks, but it’s not nonexistent. Vivify is critting on me for around 1.7mil, it’s free and instant cast, and you can use it 150 times every dungeon. Make sure you’re timing your Expel Harms when you have 2-3 orbs down. If you have 4-5 even better!
It’s not reduced slowly by talents. It’s reduced extremely quickly by talents. Blackout Combo into Keg Smash reduces the cooldown by about 5sec. You can have an 8sec CD on Purifying Brew and about a 2min CD on Fortifying Brew if you’re consuming your Blackout Combos appropriately. It’s the shortest MAJOR tank CD in the game.
Brew is great. It’s not meta, that for sure. But I’m now doing 9s-10s with very little problem. The only areas I’m getting hit real hard in, every tank is getting hit real hard in. But I’m doing 1-2mil DPS on big pulls (Weapons of Order is the real “secret” to huge damage), I’m having zero threat problems even though I’m playing with 97-99th percentile heroic raid parsers (Arcane, Assassination, Aug usually), I’m healing myself twice as much as any healer is healing me, again, hitting 700k HPS on some pulls (quite a bit for a tank people claim has no self healing huh) and I love that Brew utility trivializes all of the Xalatath mechanics (RoP for orbs, Touch of Death for this 1hp mob).
Sometimes I go WW and let my Blood DK friend tank. Let me tell you, the runs go 10x smoother with me on Brew than him on Blood and Blood is supposedly one of the “best tanks this season”. It really underscores how much skill and experience matter. A good Brew is better than an average anything.

Brew is great in delves. Plenty of self sustain and mobility.
