sorry a bit late, but if you play with multiple browser windows open i would go for 32 gb
Yea, I will get 32 for sure–question is how much, if any, benefit of going with 64 gb?
64 GB is a bit of a stretch - it’ll depend on your overall PC usage habits and how many things you run at once at any given time. Check the performance tab in your task manager from time to time.
I use 64GB with my habits: I sometimes have a couple of games running including personal LAN servers, I run VMs and other background apps, I poke around with 3D character creation programs, and I have an ungodly amount of browser tabs open. I utilize about 40-50GB.
But if you only run a single game and use a few browser tabs at a time, 32GB is fine.
Opinions on deciding between these two GPUs:
PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT Graphics Card with 12GB GDDR6 Memory
OR
Sapphire 11306-01-20G Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming Graphics Card with 12GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 2
Down to only a $50 difference between the two…
6750 is just a slightly upgraded 6700. if you ok with the extra $50 i would go for that
If it were me, I’d wait til black friday. With the next gen video cards coming out I’m sure some really nice cards will hit all time lows on the 6000 and 3000 series.
I am for sure waiting until Cyber Monday but monitoring the rest of the pieces I need–but I got price alert on the 6750 dropping down to where it is only $50 more and just gathering info before that 4 day stretch.
I have everything ordered for my build now and hoping to begin tomorrow night or Saturday–still browsing Black Friday deals and such–so I have this question:
Is there a benefit to use TWO SSD Drives? I ordered a WD_Black 1TB SN850X (down to $100 on Amazon today) which I will put in the PCIE 4.0 slot, but wondering if there is any benefit to having a 500 GB PCIE 3.0 2nd SSD to put the OS on since I am not overly concerned about initial boot time?
Motherboard is MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Motherboard and the 2nd slot is only PCIE 3.0 .
It’s no different than having multiple hard drives. You can configure it however you like. I would still put Windows on the SN850X personally though.
Big thanks to everyone who helped in the thread here–build the comp over the last couple days and up and running:
5800X3D
PowerColor 6700 XT
3200 2x16 RAM
Set my FPS to target at 142 and pulling it in most situations so I am really happy with it
