Starting Over Worth It?

Hi, I am thinking of deleting all my toons and starting all over from 1-50, is it really worth the time and effort?

To what end? What experience are you looking for that you can’t get while keeping your deleted toons?

How is it any different from just leveling new toons, or leveling new toons on a different server, or different faction?

Why waste the time deleting them.

This post is much confuse.

Why would you seek to do it that sounds like a lot of time and effort.

I couldnt do it myself but it sounds intriguing
Maybe a second WoW account with no characters on it under the same Bnet so you dont have to delete your work but feels like a fresh start, but with all your mounts and mogs.

I wouldn’t say to delete them, but I’ve leveled up a few alts in the past using no help from my mains(not even heirlooms, back when they offered XP).

It’s fun enough, if you actually like leveling.

Not sure what the point is. How is that different than just starting a new toon while keeping your others?

I’ve had the urge to as well throughout the years, but I’ve never been able to justify acting out on it.

There’s really nothing to gain you can’t get from just making a new character on a new server though.

the easy thing to do would be to enable personal achievements so you don’t have account wide things enabled… then just go to a new server.

What experience are you looking for?

You can have 50 characters, why scrub the effort you’ve put into those characters you have? At the very least, they can craft stuff for your new army.

Um, why?? Just start a new character…

I’ve actually just started a new account with new toon to see what I missed in the game. But then I discovered that the AH became useless for making any gold and I ended up grinding even more than I was doing. Ended up closing that account and transferring the toon after I boosted it. I was bored and wanted to see what it would be like. Then I missed what I had already achieved. Granted I started playing at the end of Pandaria so my first real xpac was Draenor. At that time my main was level 58 and in Outland. I took it to 60 and boosted it for the new content and professions boost to max level. So there was a lot of the game I missed. If that is what you miss then I would just create a new toon on a different realm. Saves you some expense and you don’t lose what you have already accomplished.

Seems kinda silly.

If you want a sorta “virgin” experience, why not just play on a new server? Or just, y’know, not send anything to a new character on the server you’re on.

Starting over won’t delete your memories and make the game as it once was.

No, that’s idiotic. Maybe a couple, but you can have up to 50 alts on your account. Just start on a new server if you want a change.

Why?

If youre going to do this, why not just a reroll on a new server where you wont have access to the inventories of the characters you already have?

Seems like a waste of both time and energy.

Hmmm…

I suppose it depends on what you want. I assume that you want to start over as to start fresh, to let go of the past in a way that makes going back not an option yes? So that in a way, you are forcing yourself to move on.

At least that is something I have once considered as sometimes starting completely fresh with no option to go back helpful at times. May sound crazy, but talking from experience, it has helped, but it is a big choice to make. Once you go down that route, there is no going back. At which point, you either start fresh, and find that passion for the game once again, or you move on.

Just my two coppers.

Pick a new server to start over. That way the old characters are there for posterity…hic!

Sounds like a complete waste to me, if anything you can start new on another server.

No, it is not.
