Starting BFA world quests

Do I need to do something before doing BFA world quests? Not having a daily pet tamer addon is annoying (is there one that is current)? For example, I (well, my pets) have fought Blotto a couple of times and I’m hoping to some day get the not worthless kind if pet charm but there has so far been no reward for defeating Blotto. Am I supposed to start a quest chain?

If you’re doing BfA WQs already, you just need to watch for the Pet Trainers to show up on the map – they’re a green claw icon. Make sure the map doesn’t have Trainers turned off if you aren’t seeing any.

There are always a few of them up. Clicking on an icon shows what reward they’re offering. Most days at least one will drop Polished Pet Charms.

There are strategies for each Trainer you can find online, XU-Fu’s site is probably the best source. wow-petguide . com

Thanks. I’ve been using xu-fu’s site for a while for draenor, legion, etc… Now I got to each place, for bfa, see if there is maybe a trainer then go to the next. It’s incredibly time consuming and so far no rewards. I hope there is a less tedious way of doing this.

Also, xu-fu gives the name of the quest. But the map shows the name of the trainer. So, I’m in the process of trying to figure out what question goes with what trainer.

Make sure you have Pet Battles checked in your map UI. Sometimes UI addons will hide the option, like I have to disable Pet Tracker to be able to see the option on my map.

That said, instead of going to every zone until the problem is fixed, A3 pets on Twitter posts what pet battles in BfA are up each day for NA. The only ones they don’t do are Uldum/Vale.

What I see clicking on a green icon on world map is the name of the trainer, name of the quest, and what the reward is. If you’re seeing something different, means an add-on may be interfering. And if you don’t see the green icon at all, need to turn on Pet Battles for the map.

Hmm. With all addons disabled, and ui reloaded, clicking on the paw print icon (green/blue/orange) does nothing, for me. If I turn off pet battles in the map, the paw icons disappear.

If you are just starting world quests, the only ones that give a reward are the ones for that day’s world quest. All of the BfA tamers will let you battle them as many times as you want, but they don’t give a reward or even much xp. It can be useful if you are experimenting with your teams, but otherwise not worth it.
In Uldum and Vale, there will be one pet battle per day that you can do for a reward, and it should show on your world map.

I am not just starting world quests, except in bfa. One motivation is that I would like to at least see a polished pet charm once. The other is trying to figure out what to do now that most dailies are almost pointless and trying to figure out if there is a direction for me to go in as a busy person that occasionally does pet battles.

Okay, so, on your world map, not the mini map, there is a little magnifying glass icon in the top right corner. Click on that, and make sure “Pet Battles” is checked. Then you can look at the different zones and see which zones have pet battle rewards.
As I type this, I don’t see any for Polished Pet Charms, but there is one in Nazmir with Marked Flawless Battle-Stone.
I remember it was turned off on one of my alts, and it nearly drove me crazy trying to figure out what was wrong.

Without pet battles checked, no paw prints appear.

Someone above mention a twitter account. Today it says there is a pet battle in mechagon and I see nothing there. I’ve also only been to part of Mechagon.

I’m guessing maybe I have to have been to the place before I see pet battles? But then there is still the question of how other people see info when they click on the paw print when I do not. Are people using an addon?

You can use the World Quest Tracker Addon which will show all of the WQ available for each zone when you open up the map.

I think for the WQ to be unlocked in both mechagon and nazjatar, you have to do the intro quest to unlock the WQ there.

Do you have BFA WQ unlocked on your character?

Aha! Finally figured out how you could be seeing those pawprint icons but not get any useful info clicking on them. Should have realized when you mentioned Blotto – the Ny’alotha WQs are separate from the original BfA WQs. Sounds like you’ve gotten good advice in your other forum thread, and once unlocked things should work properly.
