Starting at lvl 20 with alts is the only way

Please extend the option to start at lvl 20 for all toons regardless of race if you have a max level character.

Starting zones are often bad, uninspired, and there to help new players. We’ve had a trial run of ARs. Loved it. Now extend it to all races so no one ever again has to do that god forsaken Worgen Starting zone.

Come Shadowlands all characters, even DK’s and DH’s will start at level 1 except for Allied Races who will start at level 10.

Good news though is that leveling will be 60-70% faster for most players, but yeah they already stated how player starting levels will be going forward after the squish.

Ok, so can we get 10 then?

If everyone just starts at level 10 then why even have levels 1-9 and why not just say “Fine, everyone starts at level 1!”

I get your post states “for people who already have a max level” but that’s quite literally what heirlooms exist for.

There’ll be a new [which we can safely assume “efficient”] starter zone that will take you from 1-10.

Can’t you skip the new starter zone on newly created alts as long as you’ve played through it once? Effectively getting this guy exactly what he’s asking for?

Yes and No. By skipping it _(Which can only be done if you have a max level IIRC) you opt to go to the old world starting zone for your selected race, at level 1.

So people who want to experience say the Worgen or Goblin or Human or Pandaren starting experiences can still.

Same with picking where to level. If you don’t have a max level already you will be forced to level 10-50 in BFA but if you have done it already then you can pick wherever you want to go.

They are not bad or uninspired, they are meant to tell a small story behind that race. Allied races start in the main city because that small story is already told when unlocking them.
How can you call the starting zones “uninspired” when each was made to based on each race?

Honestly, I really like the starting zones for a lot of the races hehe. I think my favorites have to be Blood Elves (and this is coming from someone who hates elves), Draenei, Worgen, and Pandaren.

I am glad they are giving options to skip those zones though with the new zone because you can only do them so many times before they get played out. But I do like to re-experience those areas every so often.

Honestly, I just like leveling and questing.

They are reworking the start zones though right? I thought I remember reading that or was it only the DK start areas?

I also love almost all of them!
The only one I don’t like that much is DK. The whole place is amazingly beautiful and have amazing lore quests, but the quests take so long to complete and you basically can’t leave the area before doing them all
I can’t mention my favorite, because they made such a good job on making each represent completely every race. Taurens with totems, Blood Elf being majestic, Undeads in basically a cemetery.

I do not believe so. They are creating a new starting zone that goes from 1-10 for all non-allied races and Hero Classes (IIRC). Old DK’s will still have their old starting zone, new DK’s will have a new short starting zone with Bolvar. Allied races will skip starting zones and start at level 10.

I am not sure if its possible for Old Race DK’s, New DK’s, and DH’s to skip their starting experience in favor of the new starting experience though. What I do know is that DK’s and DH’s will start at level 1 come shadowlands.

This is actually a really good reference point for how much faster leveling will be. Effectively leveling from 24-120 in current levels just in BfA content, which can be knocked out in half a day if you grind it out currently. Plus heirlooms.

I mean the only reason I ask for something like this is because I largely love to level in dungeons and BGs. I guess, given the squish, I should wait and see when LFD and and BGs are engageable.

Ooph. Ya lost me here.

Yeah, I am really excited to see how it flows honestly.

Yeah, I feel ya there. I have a feeling 1 to 10 will be pretty fast though.

Hehe, yeah, its an acquired taste I suppose. I LOATHED it back in TBC when I rolled a Draenei Shaman. I think I hated it because I spent so much time in the Plague Lands in Vanilla and the two Draenei Islands textures and trees just felt like more of the same.

Going back after having not played there in so many years though, I really enjoyed it a lot more. Then again I also was not trying to rush to max level when I went back there. But still, its certainly an acquired taste hehe.

But then again I also think that Vashj’ir is one of the best WoW zones too and that one is almost universally hated.

It’s interesting, speeding up the leveling by 70%, then make a character an AR to start at 10, and if Heirlooms are still a thing get another 40-50% faster leveling. 10-60 will be done in 10 hours? Tops?

That is a big cut in the barrier to entry. I’ve always said leveling and gearing in WoW is too long a process for PvP to be an E-sport. If the meta changes in an E-Sport players want to change with it, they want to play the comps the pros play.

But, to swap to a new Class in WoW is involved or involves $$ services. By now most will have 12 characters but ask a new person to come into that, to level at least 2-3 characters in case they hate the meta of a Class? No way.

Meanwhile, the players have often called for slower, more meaningful leveling experiences or to just get rid of leveling entirely. I guess by making 1-60 a breeze, expansion levels can be more “Classic/BC” era-esque?

Ammen Vale is easily the best starting zone imo. Beautiful, music is entrancing, and a nice flow.

It’s a 45 minute walk to get crab meat!

wonder how mounts and stuff will work…im guessing 20 40 and then 60?

Those 20 levels are like 2 hours dude.
