My friends will be playing Orc (x2), Troll and Tauren and me being the only Undead.
IDK what would be the appropriate level I need to be before I join them and I don’t know if I could join them right after I leave the starter zone. Any groups doing something similar that can throw a couple of tips for me.

Silverpine is pretty cool. I plan to level there before joining my friends in Kalimdor.
I’ll be in the same boat. My friends will be rolling Orc/Tauren while i’ll be going undead mage.
Should be able to level up fairly easily though to around 10 and then everyone can meet up in Barrens and group.
If you want to join them ASAP, you can run to Valley of Trials with them. Or you can do the starting zone and meet up around level 12 in The Barrens. As an Undead, you would typically do Silverpine Forest -> The Barrens -> Silverpine Forest -> The Barrens. After that, you could all level from around 20 to 60.
Why don’t you just go do their starting zone. As an undead you can run to the zeppelin after doing your initial starting quests and then go join them in razor hill
Undead players are the coolest, that’s what I saw at the stress test at least
Will I be able to get quest from their quest givers? Example level 5 zones and stuff?
Once you get to razor hill you will be able to do all the same quests they will, vice versa you can make them all take the zeppelin and meet you in brill
There is rep and a couple of class quests you will still need to keep an eye on if you need them.
The only thing to keep in mind if you leave the undead zone is if you are playing a certain class(es) that require you to do your level 10 class quest in Tirisfal Glades. I’m pretty sure that Warriors in the category and maybe Rogues. Warlocks are not but I don’t know about Mages and Priests.

Im leveling to 12, get fp in sepulcher, then omw to ogrimaar to meet up with everyone
I dunno, I always liked the low-level Undead stuff. I’d wait until you finish the first two-ish zones.
I started playing Mage at later expasions and got boosted, do I need to worry about class quests for mages?
Simply run to durotar at level 1 if you want. It’s not hard to get there. They have mage trainers. What’s the problem? The tauren guy is the one that will have it rough, because he has to run through the barrens. My suggestion would be to grab the flight paths on the way through. Then he can fly to crossroads later.
At around level 12, you should make your way to ogrimmar. Make sure to take the RFC quest from sylvanis’ chamber before leaving and grabbing the thrall quest for RFC as well and doing the first part.
Hopefully the tauren takes the 2 RFC quests from Thunder Bluff. Then do the dungeon together for easy gear and experience.
Take the zep as many have mentioned and go see the troll mage trainer for your skills as you level. No probs. You won’t miss anything by skipping, unless you want the rep for you horse mount.
You may end up doing the run to Org if for no other reason than access to the ONLY AH. I pity/envy Night Elves. I remember rolling an elf, and running to Darkshore, Boat to Wetlands, and the scary run past all those croc, and then that one dang orc in the mountain pass, to get to the one AH, in Ironforge.
