Every mount in the entire game garbage drop rate aside from the 20% or guaranteed ones. I got rustfeather after 5 kills (seen some people over 1000 kills), and I sit over 600 on Ruhkmar. During BFA I had like 14 alts I would send regularly on a mount run, I have maybe half of them and still I go back to Mechagon to farm the spider with no luck.
The reported drop rates are only an indication since it only takes information from players who upload it and you cannot rely on the API data of who has those mounts, you don’t know how many kills they done, problem is Blizzard have only ever confirmed a handful of drop rates, like the love rocket.
If you feel you weren’t forced into content for stuff like essences and visions for the cloak or AP for neck levels then by comparison SL shouldn’t feel forced at all.
No point is that you had to level our HoA, but you didn’t have to do a specific type of content to level it. You could farm WQ’s all day if you want, or you could farm AZ via IE or warfronts, you could run instances or PVP, there was options.
Right now for me to get the rest of my renown I need to run instances, I might get some from callings and the one guaranteed renown per week, but the only way I can right now to get my renown after doing my callings is to run instances, over and over again, I have no other option currently.
And given power is directly related to how much renown you have that needs to change because for players who don’t or can’t run M+ it takes a long time to get it.
Hit 60 > do enough story to be able to craft leggo / unlock conduits > have friends carry my fresh 60 through m+s / normal or heroic raid (or I buy a boost since its an alt and I want gear fast) > after a full heroic norm and LFR clear my warlock was like 26 renown ish? > start doing higher keys > rinse and repeat.
Bull crap any expansion is alt friendly, if they were we would not need to farm everything on every character, the only alt friendly stuff in this expansion are the Torghast and Ve’nari upgrades.
If Blizzard actually made this expansion alt friendly we would be able to skip The Maw intro on alts, start with some renown or at least get a catch up after we do our campaign and so on, maybe than more people would actually play alts and maybe than we would not be sitting here wondering where everyone is.
