It’s so boring in SL compared to literally any other expansion in the games history. Hit level 60 and boom, you hit a wall, fast. And every time you think you got over the wall, another wall, and another, currently sitting 9/9 on the campaign.
No conduits, no legendary, missing renown levels, no anima.
I spent hours farming PF yesterday at 4-6 runs per hour, no legendary drop and ONE WHOLE RENOWN CATCHUP! OH YEH! And because I was choosing a specific dungeon, no anima either.
Each of my alts has a goal. My Arcane Mage’s entire role is to just get enough resources to get that green fox mount. I log on every day for about ~1 minute to go do his anima conductor treasure chest.
You get to 60…then you start gathering these things. What did you expect to happen?
Also, focus on Anima and upgrading your Covenant armor until you can get get into M-0s or higher before you worry about your legendary. The drop chances are higher at higher difficulties
This. If you’re that bored OP, play something else for a while, this is a really good time to do that since you won’t be falling behind. Forcing yourself to do something regardless of enjoyment is a sign of addiction/compulsion.
Well, I run it in mythic level for the “almost” guaranteed drop.
Hit 60, have 5 renown, 3 callings gives me 8, few dungeon runs puts me at 10-12, 9/9 on campaign puts me 20ish, by that time it’s working on m+ and into raiding.
People complained about “daily chores” that they felt “forced” to do to stay competitive. So blizzard removed the chore part, and now people are complaining because they’re bored.
Some times I feel bad for the devs. Give them a new expansion and they’re not happy. Give in to their demands, and they’re still not happy lol.
But for me, a lot of my fun comes from that 51-60 and up to about m10 level. For alts that is. I log over to help some people out with specific things, maybe run Torghast or a calling. Maybe not.
But yet again my play time is rather limited, so my play time is pretty well filled up with things I enjoy doing.
You were not close to being forced into anything in previous expansions, now you are absolutely forced and railroaded into very specifics if you want to continue here. Like I have to 100% do callings or the various groups instances if I want to progress, there is literally nothing else I can do.
In BFA you had a plethora of things to do, but there was absolutely zero requirements to do any of them since they all basically offered the same, gear upgrades, AZ power. The onlt time you were ‘forced’ into content is if you wanted upgrades, and that hasn’t changed in 17 years.
Callings are only good for gold after a certain point. The epic ones maybe for upgrading a conduit here or there.
In BfA you had azerite you had to farm. Because levels unlocked essence slots. And then you had to farm essences. Some drink raids. Some from PvP. Some from horrible rep grinds (here’s looking at you Najatar).
Shadowlands is just log in and play.
PS - none of this is a personal dig at you. Just a generalization of the population as a whole
If you know anyone who has the Anima Conductor advanced enough to open the Tirna Scithe section it spawns a rare boss that drops the green Fox Mount. If not look for Valfir the Unrelenting in the group finder.
It’s at least another way to get the mount that might be quicker. It’s how I got it. Just happened to come across someone killing the rare when I was doing the following quest there.
My point is though that in BFA you could farm AZ pretty much anywhere. In SL you have to farm renown levels on an alt from only the callings or instances aside from the weekly quest. Same for Soul Ash, if you want your legendary now you have to go into Torghast, there are no other options.
I liked BFA because I could choose, do I want to do a warfront? Maybe some IE? How about spamming dungeons? Maybe some PVP, some WQ’s, whatever it was you could get gear, AZ power, it wasn’t until you wanted to upgrade your iLVL did you than have to go into M+ or raiding.
Now there is just no choice, the same instance farm is there for iLVL, but outside we have nothing. Once you hit your maximum WQ iLVL and conduits all outdoor content offers is anima farm as the core option.
I was there, I have always been here. I’ve never felt like there is so little to do since about 15 years ago. People complained in BFA because there was too much to do, so now we get nothing. It’s a part of why the place feels empty, aside from the fact it is empty, because there is so little to do now.
Threads, do all anima WQs while leveling (and weekly dungeon quests for more anima!), fill all bars, don’t turn in those zone quests till almost 59, then turn them in an get the first renowns. Do campaign, do Torghast quests, keep getting anima WQs and conduit ones. Toss in some dungeons! Get all soulbinds unlocked in ten days, upgrade covenant armor, a legendary in two or three weeks, easy peasy!
