Start phasing out the trinity

make each class have a “tankier” spec like warlocks used to have (I heard anyways);

make each class also have a more self-healing spec

re-introduce CC in dungeons

do away with the trinity or make it optional

So your solution to “phase out the trinity” is to give every class a spec that… lets them be a tank or healer?

Create shared and individual mechanics that determine group success, and do away with tanking and healing as roles. Too easy for a single player to hold a group hostage, either through their poor character or poor understanding of their role. Scenarios and delves, with the ability to drop in and drop out of groups without hurting the group’s success. We’ve been at this for well over a decade, and the power imbalances and toxic behaviors are only getting worse, and Blizzard is expending less and less attention and effort to fix it.

The trinity has been dead. We’re just now noticing the smell.

I love the forums on long maintenance days. It’s like going to a Flea Market and talking to the locals, things get wild.

This would be a really bad idea. Its an absolute, and its removal would be more of a loss of players than a gain, while creating a new series of expectations as well as the desire for a return to the ‘trinity’.

People cant do mechanics today. Getting rid of tanks and healers will not change that.

I am all for trying to make this game more accessible, but this aint it. Honestly its a community problem, and that is what should be fixed instead.

Last night I figured I’d fart around on my MW. Not even sure what dungeon it is but zoned in after que and the tank was already in the next room. By the time I caught up basically the entire screen was just completely filled. Every single on of the dps was standing in everything they could find and the tank had absolutely no intention of giving a crap. It was worth the 30 debuff. I was a main healer for many years. Whatever this current meta is they can honestly just straight up keep it. It’s actually abusive and just a terrible experience I’m not sure how else to put it. They are completely out of touch with what fun is. The healer experience doesn’t even remotely match anything else not even close…it’s far too sweaty to maintain people wanting to do it. Not even that it’s too hard it’s just too fast and stressful…everyone else just basically holding w and healers are out here blowing every freaking cd they have on every single (pull). Lawl…if you can even call it that. Seriously it’s just not worth the effort.

Some people like playing tanks or healers.

Only terrible players say things like this. The dungeons take plenty of cc to do at a higher level, it’s just not like stand there and mark 3 mobs and sheep moon anymore.

I will say that the cc changes are awful this expansion though.

A lot of the problems people complain about or due to them having already moved away from the trinity.

Tanks running off because they no longer need healers or DPS. Excessive mechanics and dance dance…

Those are side effects of not having the traditional fail state that you get with the trinity design.

no terrible idea.

How many times are you going to make this post?

Get rid of trinity ? You might as well play a different game other than RPG and D&D. The Trinity is the basic foundation of all RPG.

Play Diablo if you want this. There is a game for you, it just isn’t this one.

Creating more kinds of tanks will not solve the “tank issue”. Classes aren’t the problem. People just don’t want to put up with abuse anymore.

Makes sense to me.

Diablo is a solo game.

Even in POE in which you can play any spec solo, in group play people use a tank and aura bot with specialized dps.

Meanwhile, in Guild Wars 2, players are constantly trying to spec the trinity back into existence.

People just don’t understand math, which is why they’re bad at the game. Stacking multipliers on specialists will always outperform 5 generalists.
