I would like an option for alts to start at max level. I hate leveling more than once.
I think there should be 2 options when making a new character: option 1 - normal, start at level 1. Option 2 - Max level, you start at max level but you must have 1 max level character on your account.
Leveling is actually preventing me from playing alts because it’s just that boring, I’d rather stare at a clock then level twice.

There is one option currently, but it will cost you 60$ and you’ll still have to do the last ten levels yourself.
I doubt they will ever give out level caps for free.

I have 14 now, 13 max level and an alliance at 61.
It’s not so bad once you get going and get to max level, because you can than use TW week for any alt levelling, farm badges, use those for account progress and chance getting the Timewaster mount.

But then how will people learn how to play their class despite the fact leveling and playing at level cap are two massively different things?

You are playing the wrong game.

Terrible idea.
Imagine a turret dps who decides to try tanking. The create a toon, make it max level, and immediately jump into mythics.
omg, what an absolute crapstorm that would be.

Personally I think levelling does help learn your class, at least it helps you learn what spells you have and how to setup your action bars, what buttons to press to do anything.
Starting at max level and going direct into dungeon content when you know nothing about your class, how is that helpful?
No difference to a turret DPS who levels a tank by being a DPS and going direct into mythics trying to tank for the first time.
Really we should have some sort of pre-requisite before we allow anyone to tank or heal in anything outside of LFG content.

At minimum it should force the player even at max level to go through the tutorial. I believe currently you can only max to 60 and still need to level to 70 (so even on a boosted toon, you will still have to learn to play over the 10 levels before hitting mythics).
Any more reason to troll mythics in game is not a good idea, imo.
Completely agreed with all you said there.
They tried during MoP with the Proving Grounds. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Endless.
Those were at least a way to increase the difficulty on things, and required you to use your tool kit.
Honestly, to me, the proving grounds were MUCH more involved than the tutorial. I think having something like that again would be highly useful.

They should do something again, as it stands you can boost to 60 now (and later it will be 70), rush those last 10 levels as a DPS and have no idea what you are doing as a tank or healer.

It’s no wonder why you’re still at level 10. Perhaps, if you actually read the entirety of the quests, then you’d know why you are doing them, because it’s a story. Also, many quests have changed, even if it’s slightly since the inception of this game.

Honestly leveling is about all I do. Right now I have three alts all pulling me in different directions. I’m gonna need to make some choices. It’s got to the point since last expansion that I have one of everything but monk (well one in the 30s but I don’t count it) and 3-4 of classes I really like.
I won’t pay for a race change I’ll just level as different races. I even duplicated a couple of my characters by leveling the exact same class/race on a different server, but that didn’t work out, I’m back where I started, and I doubt I’ll do anything quite that redundant again.
If I could make all my characters at max level it wouldn’t be that bad, but I’d ultimately get bored far quicker and we can’t have that. For me the last 10 levels are the least fun. No chromie time, go figure. I wouldn’t mind if it took 1-2 fewer dungeons to get a level from 61-70, I’d argue for that over just starting at cap.

The leveling process is so fast n easy these days though. You can go from 1 to 70 in a few days.

Ahh, the hand-me-outers are back at it again.

You’re in luck! Blizzard since they heavily nerfed the XP from heirlooms all those years ago has created a solution to the very problem they created. For the small cost of the full game price you can buy a leveling boost!

WoW should just make leveling fun instead. Id rather level in classic era than retail any day. Classic takes forever but at least its engaging. Way bigger world, far more risk of death, actually have to pay attention.
I’m leveling a resto druid right now by queing tank in time walking and clicking only thrash from my spell book in bear form. No one has notcied yet and im level 78. I have died once after pulling like 5 packs.
It takes a long time to setup a UI in this game and I can’t do it properly until I’m 70. No way I’m spending hours setting up bear UI just to level.
Leveling is the reason to play the game. Next people will want a button that says “PUSH THIS TO INSTANT WIN”

More options is always a plus. Doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Doh! Somehow I missed the OP stating it would be optional. If it’s optional, I’m ok with this.
