you guys wanted our damage in moved into spells with cast times and you got what you wanted. you asked for this and celebrated when it happened. how would you like balance druids to deal damage? just curious. btw we’re still mid tier dps.
all these threads do is confirm 2 things for me:
- No one really cares about how they take damage, they just don’t want to take any. No one likes dying.
- No one really cared if spells have cast times. Never has anyone been walking back to their corpse after getting one shot by an elemental shaman and thought “It’s OK though, lava burst has a cast time”

If they do anything but buff druids more, lmao.

A class can simultaneously be very burst from a PvP perspective and be mid-tier DPS. It’s not mutually exclusive.
OK, but Starfire’s damage has everything everyone asked for, right? It requires setup (you have to cast Starsurge once before), it has a cast time (1.5 or 2 seconds depending on if you crit before, it’s expensive, and it as a really low crit rate of 5+3% from Moonkin Form. These are all the things people wanted our burst to be, you guys got what you wanted. Now you don’t like that either.
BTW Anyone hitting you that hard probably doesn’t have any HP, just kill them.

I can’t believe druid will hit 2k and tell you with a straight face they are entitled to that after a 1.5 second cast time. What are some other 1.5 sec casts? Scorch? r1 Frost Bolt? If you think you should delete 60% of a Stam stacked PvP characters HP in 1.5 seconds and think that’s not getting nerfed you’re delusional.
won’t happen much, but… I will tell you, as Hunter go all the way to BM… have the jump on the Priest, BW the pet and proceed to Conc. Shot + Damage before Priest can put dots… the Priest will have for sure to Disperse as soon you get your pet red, however, they will try to DOT you before Disperse, either as Healer / Shadow… Priest actually started to put dots you press Intimidation.
case Priest landed DOTs, you use Resto Potion - they come towards you with Disperse, you Trap Launcher frost so they cannot be in range for Fear… case they try to go away you also Trap Launch so they cannot Swiftness Potion out, since you already won the PvP… you can Intimidate as soon Disperse ends if not on c/d, Priest uses Trinket you Conc. Shot… unless the Priest runs Martyr they won’t be able to cast at all, between BW pet and your shots it’s impossible unless 100% pushback is applied to Priest.
and I agree, Priest will kill anyone who can’t play the game with ease… however, it won’t kill someone who uses a Resto Potion, as that basically ends with our DOT damage, and we are unable to strike with Shadow unless we have Martyr applied, and we lost basically our entire burst when SW:D was so heavily nerfed.
Try using a restoration potion.
1500 dmg is balanced tbh. Every class can do 1500+ dmg relatively quickly once they have enough gear. And ultimately, that’s the big pain point for people now. They aren’t geared enough to survive in PvP.
Personally, I don’t mind it. I don’t think a fresh lvl 40 should be able to go toe to toe with a fully geared lvl 40. As someone who is currently one piece away from full Phase 2 PvP BiS, I actually really like how good it feels. I like that my gains feel impactful, and that my efforts to seek out increased character power via raiding, crafting, and pvping have been rewarded.

Hey! Great advice. May I give you some as well?
Try lowering your opponent’s HP faster than they lower your HP. Good luck out there!
I’m a healer though. I try to keep the HP levels up, and offer suggestions that help others do the same.
Starfire isn’t instant, the answer to what do you have is Spell Lock. Or fear. Or Seduce. Or Curse of Tongues.
It also requires a spell beforehand, and also has like 9% crit chance which is required to deal that much damage.

Fully geared Boomkin without irradiated still only has 1300 health
don’t even bother…
whoever complains about Priests have no clue how to play - typical person would be those using FAP’s for raid, or they would burn their gold to get Shadow Protection for Kelris but not for a real threat like a Shadow Priest that is not a “scripted” easy fight.
we both as Priests offer others way to beat us, they won’t listen… in fact I bet, the ones who actually complain have “BIS” raid gear and think they can PvP with that garbage.
Dang, I want my instaburst 1.5k damage, and here I thought I had to hard cast at least 2 mind spikes and a mind blast then swd.
This just isn’t true. I run with a boomkin who has 2500 health with full druid/priest buffs and even more health when in STV or BGs thanks to the 30% stamina buff. If you’re sacrificing that much stamina for spellpower that you only have 1300 HP ‘fully geared’, then sure, maybe you’ll do good PvE damage, but you can’t complain when you get two-shot in PvP.
two Priests in this thread already told you how to beat us in PvP… when we face Priest vs Priest is a dispel + burst dispute, you may be on a class without Dispel.
case you are, bad news… you need to buy and stack Restorative Potions, and you will ALWAYS pop one as soon the first dot comes in… got it?
in addition, do you have any piece of gear without stamina? - cool, toss it on the bank, you will never, ever use it unless you are already INSIDE a raid…
do what I tell you and you will be able to kill Priests.
Why you letting druids cast that? For once i can say that this is a true skill issue.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a lost cause. In many topics I try to explain how people beat my class daily in PvP (both Spriest and Disc Priest) and people here act like I’m talking about something impossible. Blizzard hasn’t adjusted priest since the large SWD nerf, and while I personally don’t feel like VP needed to be buffed (Mind Spike buff was fine), it’s obvious that they have the data necessary to determine whether or not more nerfs are necessary. It doesn’t appear like they are, based on Blizzards lack of further action.
Anyone can theory craft a way to beat anyone in writing. These engagements are rarely 1v1’s. You are being incredibly disingenuous about the power of your class.
A priest telling others that a priest is fine, doesn’t resonate quite like you think it does. You aren’t offering insights, you’re making excuses.
Use a potion or dispel is a cop out and you know it. That can be used for every class that is overpowered.
And seriously? Your sage advice amounts to
- Use a potion
- Dispell
- Have gear with stamina
This doesn’t mean that Priest isn’t OP, it means that you aren’t utilizing your class properly. I play with priests who can go an entire BG without dying.
